Note From The Author

I started writing this story in February with a light outline of how I wanted it to proceed. I knew that by the end, this would be the most sex scenes I write. And not by a small amount. I know this is still comparatively tame compared to a lot of stories out there, but I’ve never written something this long that involved this much sex. I thought it would be quite popular because of that, as a lot of people have indicated they follow my writings and other creative endeavors because of my sexual writing.

I guess I was wrong.

I imagine it started in the second ‘part’ where our subjects entered Gilead. The story got a lot darker a lot faster than even I thought it would. But I wanted to show the three sides of **** sex as pushed by these three fictional societies. **** sex for copulation. **** sex for his pleasure. **** sex for her pleasure. And how to an outsider, all **** sex is the same.

Around that time, when writing in Gilead, I noticed a vast reduction in the number of reads, the number of bookmarks, the number of favorites, and most notably, the number of comments. I heard you loud and clear (or rather since no one was commenting… heard your silence loud and clear). You didn’t like it. At least not as much as the only other story I’ve posted here (Gamer Gurl).

That being said, I didn’t want to drop the story. The favorite part of the story in my head was the last society, and it would take getting the characters there, a little introduction, and then layering on the sex scene after sex scene. When I got to that point though, I’d already lost the audience back in Gilead and wasn’t surprised that the readership (or favorites, or bookmarks, or comments) didn’t pick back up.

I mean, look at the comments from the last month (the last 17 chapters). There’s the comment asking why I stopped writing (I was disappointed with the story, had some writers block, and was on a vacation). My response to that question. A comment about where the story might be going, a “yo” and a question about how one deletes ones old stories. That’s a single comment about the story itself.

This last chapter was, at the rate I was filling up chapters, supposed to be four or five chapters in my head. I wanted to focus on Atticus, Catty, and Joy learning about the past being unstoppable. I wanted to focus on Joy deciding on whether to stay female or return to being male. I wanted to focus on the wedding planning and the wedding itself. I even had a vague idea of a honeymoon.

But in this last month I’ve lost my appreciation for this story and evidently lost my audience for it. I just wanted it to end and saw a way that I could finish it off without feeling too cheated. So… it’s done.

Understand, I’m not trying to be whiny or complaining. I’ve been creating art in one form or another for just over thirty years. Photography, digital art, graphic design, captioned images, short story snippets, and now longer form stories. I’ve put out many creative created works that I thought were fun or great and that ended up falling flat with no love from the audience. I just wanted to write this out in case someone later asks why it came to such a sudden end.

As to what’s next; like with Gamer Gurl, I’m going to do a final edit on this and post it to Fictionmania. That way all of my collection remains together. I was thinking of doing larger edits, but I think I’m just going to read through it for consistency and then post it with no major changes. Once it’s up there, I’ll start working on my next project.

I’m 90% sure I’m going to return to Gamer Gurl. I have some fun ideas in mind for Sadie, Sarah, Louis, and the whole extended gang. I’m also considering writing the secretary story that I’ve had in the back of my head as those characters really came to the front of my mind while I was on vacation. And then I wrote this relatively short story called ‘Dommy Mommy’ on my blog that I was thinking about re-doing here. I could very easily extend that to be a story as long as Gamer Gurl or It’s A Man’s World.

Again, probably the next part of Gamer Gurl, but we’ll see once I have this up and published on Fictionmania.
