Chapter 3
by HistoricoPublius
Do you have other places to be?
Not yet; thank her for her attentions.
"No, Betua." The girl tenses for a moment, but you just pat the couch beside you. "Sit, please."
Betua does, sitting apprehensively on the very edge of the couch. Her eyes dart occasionally to your now-deflating cock. "What would you have of me, Dominus?"
You lean back, observing her. "How long have you been with me, Betua?"
"Just...just over a year, Dominus."
"Just over a year. That's right," you mutter. "I forgot you were father's last birthday gift. You're a very pretty girl, Betua." She stiffens slightly as you cup one of her small breasts and run your thumb over her pink nipple. "Your people may be barbarians, but they know how to breed attractive women. That's a virtue of the Gauls. And your hair! Few Romans ever have hair that is naturally such a color. You can tell because they don't have this." Fondly, you give her red bush a quick tug.
"I...thank you. Dominus," Betua says stiffly.
"Oh relax, Betua. I just wanted to say thank you for a year of loyal - if somewhat uninspired - service. You're a credit to my house, and I know that I push you rather far on occasion. Last night, when I gave you that order, was one of those times. I was in my cups. Now, I can't promise it won't happen again - I have ambitions, and ambitions in this city often go with hard drinking - but I did want to tell you that I see your loyalty and your unquestioning hard work, and I appreciate it. Am I heard?"
Betua nods, blue eyes wide and surprised.
"Good. Now, get out of here and prepare me a breakfast of...something. Whatever we have left, I guess."
She scrambles to her feet and scampers away (though you give her small, round ass a pinch as she does). You sigh and stand, stretching, and contemplating your day. Your family fortune is enough to sustain your day-to-day livelihood, so there's no need to work at things if you don't want the extra coin; but coin could be nice if you intend to throw more parties. And social life among the nobility of Rom is all; increasing your standing is the only way to achieve what you want. A lasting name for yourself.
Where will you begin your day?
