Chapter 5 by dolpa1 dolpa1

Does her smile last?

Not when she discovers the lack of towels!

As the steam began to clear, Abby reached out to grab a towel from the rack, expecting the softness of terrycloth to envelop her skin. But her hand closed in on the metal surface of the bar. She wrinkled her brow, thinking maybe Matt had moved the towels to the bathroom cupboard instead. She opens the cupboard door, scanning the shelves for a glimpse of fluffy white towels. But they're not there either, only a stack of toilet paper and a few bottles of shampoo. A hint of panic crept into her chest as she wondered where the towels could be, and she felt a shiver run down her spine as the air vent above her kicked in, sending a gentle breeze across her bare skin.

She racked her brain, trying to remember if Matt mentioned something about the towels. And then it hits her - Matt had lent this bathroom's towel set to a friend, since they had a spare set in their private bathroom. Abby cursed herself for not thinking of this earlier, for not planning ahead. She felt a flush rise to her cheeks as she stood there, naked and ****, the chill of the air-conditioned air making her skin prickle with goosebumps.

With a deep breath, Abby prepared herself for the dash to her and Matt's bedroom. She grasped the doorknob, turned it, and pulled the door open, ready to make a quick sprint through the house. But just as she was about to make a run for it, she heard the murmur of voices coming from the living room/kitchen area. Her heart skipped a beat. Had she really been that long in the shower?! Quick glance at a clock the hallway wall confirmed what she had feared: 11:45!

The party guests had arrived. She froze, her head sticking out the door and listened intently. The voices grew louder, chatting and laughing, completely unaware of her predicament.

What will Abby do to get out of this?
