Not well

It was madness, Batman thought to himself as he moved with Nightwing from one part of Gotham to another. They just left one battle field and were on their way to another. Gotham had always had a chaotic streak in it. As Batman, he knew that he himself had fought the insanest villains it had to offer for years. Though before there had been a logic to it, a reason for it all, no matter how insane that reason would turn out to be.

Now, though, ever since that crashed dinner, half the mobsters in the city had lost their minds, proceeded to create two new mafias, and then turned on the rest of organized crime in Gotham. There were bullets flying like rain almost every night, and the only reason there weren't enough bodies to fill the morgue three times over was due to his and the rest of the team's constant efforts. Though he knew that couldn't last for long—they were reaching their limits—he could fill it in himself despite how deeply he would like to deny it.

He could also see it in the others, though they would deny it just as much as he would if asked. This situation needed to change, and soon, before their exhaustion caused mistakes with deadly consequences for them or some innocent soul that depended on them. Though it looked like it wouldn't change any time soon.

As they descended into the latest battlefield, they saw the current madness personified. A dozen gangsters on opposite sides of a plaza were shooting at each other, though one side was your normal Italian crime family goons and the other was something very different. There were clear Irish, Russian, and Italian gangsters opposing. All of them having yellow hair—he hadn't found out the cause, but ever since the restaurant incident involving the new villain Condiment Wizard, there had been desertion from the ranks of all organized crime in Gotham.

These deserters had formed two new Mafias that had been trying a hostile takeover of all organized crime from the word go. It was a mess; the main problem there for the Batman family is that they didn't seem to have a hierarchy either with the new groups. The group's members acted in sync with each other, but there didn't seem to be a single leader they could get to stop the madness.

The new yellow mafia was currently battling in the streets over what he would guess was turf, but with this new yellow mafia, you never knew. They were always performing stunts as they did their work and seemed far more concerned with showing the other mafias how they were better in looks and in presentation than anything else. They were always moving as if they were performing for both a scoreboard and a camera.

He saw this in action as he spotted a yellow-haired man aiming a sniper rifle while dangling off the side of a fire escape. Night Wing quickly went to stop him from taking a shot and also deal with the three other members running along the roofs taking insane jumps to try and hit their opponents from behind. Batman himself descended upon the crowds fighting below, going for the yellows who were dangerously moving towards their opponents with zero cover.

They were just as dangerous to themselves as they were to their opponents. So he headed to take them out before they got hurt or hurt someone else. They were disturbing to fight as he swung and put them down one after another with brutal efficiency. The thing that made them disturbing was the reaction from them. Which was nothing at all, no matter how many he dropped or how brutally they ran at him with a cocky, self-assured smirk, like he had started crime fighting twenty minutes ago.

Eventually he was done with the yellow mafia goons and went into the regular Italian mafia with Nightwing. They responded as they should, fighting hard at first, then scattering as they realized the fight was lost. They got them anyway, and another battlefield was cleaned up. They double-checked the yellow mafia goons as best they could, as they strangely had an increased healing factor for whatever reason.

So they had to make sure they were still down and not about to get up and finish the job on their downed rivals. They were down, and so the fight was over, though they couldn't take comfort in this latest victory, as they had already heard another call for help on the police radio. So off they were towards another fight in this seemingly never-ending madness.

While Batman and Nightwing were dealing with the Yellow Mafia, Red Robin and the current Robin, Damian, were moving on the Red Mafia. They were fighting in Chinatown against the ghost dragons. Which was rather bad, as the ghost dragons had been barely holding on in Chinatown ever since their leaders were killed.

The two looked on with disgust at what the red mafia was doing to the ghost dragons. They had already beaten them, but they had gathered them in the center and were forcing them to fight each other. The winger got to rest till the next match, and the loser got beaten into the ground by the red Mafia goons.

Red Robin was disgusted with the unreasonable level of cruelty, while Robin was just disgusted with how wasteful it was. If you're going to do it, just do it. That's how Robin summed it up; this was just wasteful cruelty. The two descended from the balcony and saved the ghost dragon thugs by beating red Mafia goons.

It wasn't easy, while both red Robin and Current Robin could easily fight circles around the idiots. They, for some reason, were far stronger than they should be, their punches hitting with twice the ****. Though it didn't do them good in the end, at the end of it all four had the same thought. "What was going on with these new goons?" The four bat family members thought their minds were very curious about what was really going on and where it was going.
