Not that long.

Ruby and Weiss then ended up meeting with Yang and a girl named Blake they had met the previous night. It had involved an escapade with riding a Nevermore, something Weiss had been firmly against. Jaune, partnered with Pyrrha, had also arrived, having recently shaken a Deathstalker Grimm. Not long after, two more people joined them, a guy named Lie Ren, and Nora.

They quickly went deeper into the forest, before finding an ornate chess board, and several pieces, all in pairs. Assuming these were the relics, they each claimed one, Ruby and Weiss choosing the same one as Yang and Blake, while Jaune and Pyrrha's choice matched Ren and Nora's. Unfortunately, the Nevermore came back around then, and the Deathstalker also found them, leading to the eight booking it towards a more favorable environment to fight these high tier Grimm.

They ultimately settled on a set of ruins, and prepared to make their stand. Jaune ended up leading the group fighting the Deathstalker, Ruby taking charge of dealing with the Nevermore. During the fight, they proceeded to prove their tactical minds. Jaune's group ultimately killed the Deathstalker by Jaune having Ren distract it, then Pyrrha severed the tip of its tail with her weapon just as it hovered above its body. The stinger fell into its carapace, the weight and hardness puncturing it, leaving cracks and lodging in. Nora immediately followed it up by striking it with her hammer, fatally driving it in fully.

Meanwhile, Ruby's team managed to corner the Nevermore against the face of a cliff, and Ruby had launched herself at it, using Weiss's glyphs to run up said cliff. All the while, she was dragging the Nevermore behind her by the neck with the sharp edge of Crescent Rose. It essentially turned her weapon into a guillotine that beheaded the Nevermore in what could only be described as truly epic style. Once they succeeded, the eight headed for the extraction point, and boarded the airship.

"Whoo, that was awesome!" Ruby cheered as she went to where Jaune was alone in a single room, puking out the window due to motion sickness. She thought he could use some cheering up when she saw him getting sick again. He really hated flying in these things. He just knew the nickname Vomit Boy was going to stick, try as he might to stop it. "We were all like, "Whatcha!"" she stated exuberantly, doing rapid karate chops with both hands through the air. "And those two Grimm were all like, "AHHHH, NO, blegh!" At that one she had her hands on her own neck before tilting her head and sticking out her tongue. "Seriously, we were pure awesomeness out there!"

"...we really were..." Jaune chuckled weakly, before dry heaving. "But I don't feel it right now..."

"Ugh, yeah, barfing is no fun," Ruby sympathized.
