Not so silent alarms
Alarms blared across the bridge of the SHIELD helicarrier. Agents and guards scrambled in agitation, locking doors and securing them shut while others at control consoles tried to get information from the crew and guards from other sections of the flying airship. The armored windows surrounding the bridge slammed shut with plated steel several inches thick and hissing tight once closed. Making the bridge itself an impenetrable safehouse that could not be broken in or out of.
But outside, the ship’s interior was a veritable warzone. Gunfire could be heard behind the door, along with cries for help and shouting throughout the intercom system of the Helicarrier. Each camera feed showed guards and SHIELD troopers fighting for their lives before the camera died out. The last one being crushed like a soup can by a mechanical claw.
“GIVE ME ANSWERS PEOPLE…” Called out Fury, getting up from his seat and looking over to his staff trying to get feedback from other stations on the ship. “JUST WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING OUT THERE?”
“We’re getting reports that the brig has exploded Sir!” Called out one of the agents going over readings in front of a screen at his terminal. “The agents ordered to guard over them are not reporting back, they’re presumed dead.”
“That’s NOT possible! The collars should have…”
A blast could be heard outside, reverberating across the hull and causing the bridge to tremble from the impact. Making the director lose his footing for a split second before catching himself on his desk, where Maria helped him back to his feet.
“THE HELL WAS THAT?”
“Multiple injuries, the prisoners are making their way deeper into the ship.” Called out another agent, wincing as she listened to radio chatter and got static back that **** her to pry off her ear piece. “Sir! They’re heading their way…”
The massive vessel groaned and lurched again, the overhead lighting flickering from a power surge while the floor went off kilter for a few seconds, leaving everyone in a state of delirium while the Helicarrier tilted itself to the right sharply and made everyone fall to the ground. It took several seconds for the floor to level itself again. But even then the crew did not hear the chaos outset ebb in any way.
Getting back to his feet and checking over to see Maria Hill clutching at an injury on her forehead, Fury looked to his bridge crew and pointed back out towards the sealed door.
“Get people out there to handle those ladies, if this ship goes down its going to be like dropping a meteor into the Hudson Bay!”
“Yes sir!” The staff called out, scrambling to get a hold of who they could contain the situation.
Looking over his shoulder to the sealed door to the bridge, a cold chill ran down Fury’s spine, wondering if its even enough to keep the attackers out at all. “What I wouldn’t do for a Thor or Hulk right about now.”

Feeling the mess hall tremble again and the center of gravity shift onboard the Helicarrier, Reed and his family managed to keep their footing as the vessel shifted sharply again and stabilized after a few minutes, levelling out. The guards stumbled as they divided their attention keeping their footing and keeping an eye on the Fantastic Four as they were ordered to do.
“Please remain calm and stay where you are.” One of the guards stated, keeping a firm tone as he kept his weapon at the ready and eyed the exit to the mess.
“Yeah… Calm…” Snorted Johnny, looking up at the alarms going off overhead and the intercom barking orders to anyone in the quadrants of the ship it was referring to and assist. “THAT won’t be hard…”
“I’m going to go out on a limb that your bad versions broke free there Suzie.”
“They must have broken out once they had been reunited… They PLANNED this.” Reed surmised, hearing an explosion in the distance of the vessel and the lights overhead flicker. “If they ARE free then there is no telling what damage they will do to the ship and everyone on it.”
“We need to stop them!”
“What you NEED to do is stay here and stay put.” Demanded one of the guards chaperoning the Fantastic Four. “We were given strict orders to keep you here until further notice.”
Giving the guard a dirty look, the rest of the Fantastic Four frowned, with Susan crossing her arms and sighing in disappointment.
“Eh… You can stick it with the orders there kid.” Ben grumbled as he slammed a fist into his own open palm. “You mooks aren’t ready for the fight those ladies are dishing out. Come on guys, time to serve these Sinister Suzies a kick in the keester and send them packing.”
Stepping in front of the Thing with his weapon trained at his face, the SHIELD guard eyed Ben Grimm through goggles and face mask. “I am only giving you one warning sir, return to where you were, and we will not…”
Not even listening to the SHIELD guard giving his warning, Ben eyed the man with displeasure and looked over his shoulder.
“Hey Suz… You got a minute?”
Unamused by the five guards surrounding them with weapons at the ready, Susan snapped her fingers, and instantly the Fantastic Four disappeared. Shocked, the guards looked around, their weapons aimed high as they tried to figure out where the four had vanished. Then there was a metallic clank that sent one of the guards flopping his arms to his sides then drop to the ground. Followed by another, and another. Unsure what was going on, one of the guards opened fire, only for his bullets to vanish a meter ahead of him. Then he was the last to go **** and carefully placed on the ground with the others. When the Four became visible again, Susan had the bullets from the fired weapon paused in mid-trajectory by a bubble of invisible light, letting the bubble go and the bullets to fall to the ground like peanuts.
“Really Ben?” Chuckled Johnny as he made sure the one guard near him was still okay. “A finger flick to the head?”
“It worked, didn’t it?”
“They should be relatively safe here, come on everyone, we need to stop Susan’s less savory counter parts before they do anything serious.”
Feeling the helicarrier lurch again, the Four winced as they caught themselves from falling over.
“I think its serious already honey.” Susan worried. “Come on, let’s go!”
