Chapter 23

Okay, they don’t do anything else, but what happens the following day?
Not much aside from the Cauldrons getting more concentrated.
Another date change and the mixtures within the bubbling pots on the stove turned even more saturated, color-wise. Based on Erica’s calculations, they would give 1500 “Life Points” worth of vitality each, so 4500 in total.
“Wow, that’s gotta be a lot. They start the game with 2000, right?” Lenny asked.
She shook her head. “Again, that’s just the first part of the first anime. Most of the show has people start with 4000, and IRL the starting LP count’s 8000.” Erica explained.
That sort of deflated him. Looking back on it, that’s what it was like when he tried out Master Duel. “Right.” he grumbled. “Wait, how many did I have to start with…?”
His roommate just scratched her head, admitting “I honestly don’t know. In a Duel everyone knows their own LP totals cause there’s displays on their Duel Disks and displays edited into the scene. It not being clear from the outset is sort of throwing me…?”
He put a hand to his chin, deeply considering what could have been. “Well why’d people up the starting LP? Was it, like, more accurate?” Lenny asked her.
“Okay, so it was cause they did a special version of the rules that Kaiba designed called ‘Super Expert Rules’, and he did that in Battle City which you haven’t gotten to yet, but in the manga Pegasus actually dies when Yami Bakura tears out his Millennium Eye, spoilers by the way, sorry, so in the anime it’s less clear why Kaiba of all people has the authority to make rule changes like that, like he may be super rich but it’s not like the central game designer’s dead and his assets are up for grabs, and—“
At least fifty minutes later, as well as an extended theory dump as to why the starting life points are 8000 in the Dark Side of Dimensions movie and nowhere else, Leonard had a quasi-explanation that he was satisfied with at the moment.
“So, uh… the rules get updated, and it turns out you can have more life points. Like, it’s Duelist Kingdom, then it upgrades to ‘Expert’, then ‘Master’…?” he proposed.
She nodded. “Yup. In real life we’re in Master Rule 5 or 6, I’d need to look it up I’m not sure.”
“… right. Well, maybe not everyone has equal life point starting places? I’m certainly not an ‘Expert’, and yesterday would’ve given you around 3000. That seemed to make you less Madness Enhancement-ey, is that still fine by the way?” he asked.
Erica nodded. “Yeah, I think so. Unrelated, but would you be opposed to me picking you up and sucking everything I can out of you for a little while?” she grinned. Lenny sighed.
“… c-can I have something to drink first…?”
That time, as it turned out, was a lot less one-sided. Though his roommate wanted to start immediately, a Command Seal made her more agreeable to letting the anticipation rise.
With a vitality boost that was three times what he used in their first time together (barely letting him survive, mind you), he had a lot more to give his veritable succubus of a Servant. And about two hours later, the two were panting on their freshly re-sullied sheets, both tired but still fully conscious.
“S-So… feel b-b-better now…?”
“Hah, yeah… sorry, again…” Erica apologized, gesturing to the aggressively whitened Darth Vaders printed on the cloth around them. “We have to… hah, figure something out for next time… All the cum’s probably gonna gunk up the, guh, washing machine at this rate…”
“… k-keep it in the b-bathroom?”
“If we… hah, invest in drain cleaner, maybe…” she slightly scoffed, before admitting “Actually that might be the most workable option, sorry again.”
“S’fine, can we just c-c-chill for the rest of the day…?”
“I’d like that too…”
And so, the day passed without much of anything happening.
The next day was relatively more eventful. The pair woke up early enough to prepare for work, yes, but a much more impressive “first” had happened for the two roommates.
What happened that was so significant?
