Not just yet.

Joseph drew in a sharp breath as Beth's foot clumsily found his crotch. She giggled again and drained her drink. "So... my place or yours?" She asked drunkenly.

He reached down and grabbed her foot. "No." He said firmly. "Not like this. I don't want a drunken one-night stand we'll both regret. I want a relationship, Beth. I want a real romantic partnership! I don't want you to just get drunk and fuck me and we never talk about it again."

She sat up suddenly and withdrew her foot. Looking down, she mumbled a quick apology. "I'm sorry. I didn't understand at all. I thought you, you know, wanted me. I'm so sorry..." Joseph cringed at her sudden change of mood. He put his hand over hers.

"Beth, listen to me. Of course I want you. You're beautiful! It's just that you're drunk and not thinking clearly. If - and I mean if - we ever get intimate, I want it to be special. I want a real partner, not a hookup. At least, not a hookup from you."

At that last sentence, she looked up with a glint in her eye. "Not from me? Then who?" She studied his face for a second. "Kat?"

Joseph blushed and looked away, and Beth laughed. "You do! You wanna fuck Kat! Oh my God, I should have realized it before! Of course you wanna fuck Kat, she's hot as hell! Dude, you should have said so."

Joseph was turning even redder. "Look- I, uh- I mean, of course, she's a very attractive- but listen, I'm-"

She cut off his incoherent stammering. "Come on, man! You and Kat should totally hook up! She'd love it!" She pulled out her phone and began typing furiously.

"What? What happened to all that stuff about a relationship? You were about to sleep with me five minutes ago!" Joseph was even more confused by this new turn of events.

Beth laughed again. "Yeah, because I thought you wanted to. Now I wanna move in with you and binge TV in our pajamas together. I don't care if you fuck Kat - if it's what you want then I'm all for it." She continued typing, then put away her phone.

Joseph was aghast. "What the hell are you talking about? I'm not gonna sleep with Kat! She's my friend, and besides, aren't we supposed to be dating now?" He felt like he was dreaming.

Beth just winked and walked woozily up to the bar to pay her tab. As she walked past him, she leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. "Uber's on the way."

Not knowing what else to do, Joseph downed the rest of his drink and went outside. After a few minutes Beth came out to join him. She put her hand in his and pecked him on the cheek again, then settled her head against his shoulder. Maybe it was the liquor, but this time he didn't tense up when she did. She let out a satisfied hum.

This time, the Uber driver was less chatty. They rode mostly in silence after Beth took his arm and wrapped it around her shoulders. She settled into him comfortably and he tried to hide his arousal.

When they finally got back to his place, Beth got out alongside him. He was surprised at that. "Aren't you, uh, going home?"

She smiled ruefully. "Do you want me to? I'd love to stay at your place if that's something you want." He wasn't sure about trying to get her home when she was still this tipsy, so he agreed that she should stay with him.

As they walked across his darkened porch to the front door, Joseph nearly screamed when a figure strode out of the darkness.

"Hey." Kat said, smiling. She was wearing a short pencil skirt and a plunging red blouse. "I hear you wanted to fuck me."
