I found Lydia just outside of her classroom. Apparently she had taken a different strategy and waited for most of the other students to leave before she got up from her seat. She didn’t even greet me before going in for a tight hug. I just patted her back and told her it would be okay.
At this point I had mostly gotten used to the stares, but she was still looking around jumpily. She told me that Mateo had given her a particularly gross pick-up line and she had to just ignore him. I couldn’t tell whether she was more disappointed or spooked.
Luckily we shared our next class, physics, so we were together again. We even sat right next to each other. I hoped my presence made Lydia feel a little less on edge, and I tried to focus on the lesson myself.
Most of the day passed like this, closer to a normal day than I would have thought possible. Sure, there were the occasional humiliations. We got catcalled a lot. At one point Lydia’s towel pulled up in the back without her noticing, so a whole room got a good look at one side of her ass (after which she turned a really cute red color and looked at the floor for a while). But, by the end of the day we were feeling pretty good. Unfortunately, our luck was about to run out.
It was the end of the day and the mood around the school was lively. Word about our indecent state had gotten around by the start of 3rd period, so we constantly had a crowd of admirers around us now, and they came a lot closer than at the beginning of the day.
But Lydia and I weren’t focused on that. We had just finished our first day! We shared a high-five and remarked on how Mrs. Norman didn’t have anything on us. All that was left was the bus ride back. We decided we would both go to Lydia’s house and then I would decide what to do from there. Part of me wanted to see the look on Mrs. Norman’s face when she would ask us how the day went and we just give her an “oh, it was fine.”
We exited the school and walked out to the bus ramp in high spirits, but we quickly discovered a problem. Olivia was waiting for us at the ramp, and the look on her face was not good. I had kept up my haughty demeanor all day, but I wanted nothing to do with her, and I knew from past experience that Lydia would feel just the same. So I led Lydia to the edge of the sidewalk, where Olivia would have to go out of her way to bother us. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem like much of a deterrent for her.
“Oh wow, I didn’t realize it was ‘forget to wear clothes to school day’.”
“Very funny, Olivia,” I said.
“Yeah, and it’s pretty funny to watch you walk around like that too. Say, those things are just about too small to cover everything, huh? Are you getting off on that or something?”
Now she was right in front of us, and Lydia was pressing against me timidly.
“Oh yeah, this is just super hot for me.” I knew the simple solution to deflect her insults: sarcastically agree. It makes you sound cool enough, and more importantly it doesn’t escalate the situation.
On the other hand, we were gathering a crowd from the other bus lines at this point. If we didn’t end this little conversation soon then there might be 50 or even 100 people drawn by the yelling and the whispered rumors of two nearly-nude coeds.
“What about you, little one?” she asked Lydia. “I bet if I pulled your towel down your nipples would be hard as diamonds.”
“Don’t fucking touch her, Olivia,” I said in my most serious voice.
“Oh? And you’re gonna protect your girlfriend here? You only have one hand free a--”
