Not about Nocternia

Liandra really wished she could say something to Dagor, but... how could she? How could she explain how she had received the information? And worse, had he really decided to keep her away from his presence?

She met him for breakfast. She took his food tray from a passing servant, and brought it in herself. The middle aged Councillor laughed at her candor.

"You must be new, I would remember a maid as pretty as you" he told her. It made Liandra laugh.
"Please sit with me, I fear the chef always overestimates my hunger and sends too much." He was in a good mood, so the princess dared hope he had forgotten about assigning her a new honor guard. She sat next to him and shared the meal, making light conversation and jokes.

"So, are you feeling any better princess?"

"Yes, much better." Her heart fluttered as Dagor looked upon her with kindness. "Did you miss me?"

The gray lines of age grew more serious, and he nodded "Actually I did, Liandra. You brighten the room, makes an old man forget his age"

"You don't look old to me. At all." Liandra didn't intend flattery, she had just forgotten about everything else, and enjoyed the moment. "That is because you aren't spending nearly enough time with people your own age"

"I cant help it, I just love you" She freezes, did she just say that? She carefully sips from her cup,and tries to disguise her blunder "-r company. That is a very good tea, isn't it?"

"it is a very good tea. Could you pass me the butter please?" The princess was aghast, did he just ignore what she said? she handed him the butter, and a knife, brushing her fingers on his hand. Soft hands, but also leathery. But he ignored her again,

"It is going to be a long day today, Liandra, and we have much to do. I will speak with your father later today" But Liandra was thinking of something else entirely. There was something very strange going on, and she was determined to find out.
