Not So Happy Place

After navigating through the forest before her with no focus other than the motive at hand, Renee had found the targeted short stumped beast. With the furry blonde seemingly distracted with his head downward, the young lass took a quick glance around. Nothing but the two were visible.

With each step she took towards the pooch she made sure not to make any noise, happy that the dog was focused on whatever the ground had before him. Smiling to herself she then lunged towards Yoshi as the fox snapped a twig, perking the corgi's ears up as he scampered away. Just in time for Renee to land in the park's pond.

Gasping for air, she ascended from the waters and whipped her wet, red locks out of her face. She let out a frustrated sigh as she saw Yoshi sitting steadily at the edge of the pond. His tongue sticking out as he panted happily after letting out a slight shake, as if taunting her. Another twig snap alerted him to his earlier prey as he began yapping and running towards the noise.

“Sonuva bi-” she began as the young teen looked around carefully, instantly remembering where she was. This was at one time, her most safe and secure place. The last time she was here though was the beginning of the hellish nightmare that was her senior year. Looking over to the set of trees as she had flashbacks to a blonde taking away all her clothes and leaving her to streak home to the delight of a cafe And a surprise party intended for her late birthday.

All those dreaded thoughts instantly faded as she heard the barking bring her back to her reality. As Sophie's face appeared in Renee's mind,a strong sense of confidence washed over her as she began swimming toward the increasing volume of yips. Pulling herself out of the pond, the athletic woman began sprinting towards the only sounds being heard in the massive valley of trees.
