Nope

Try as she might, Anna just couldn’t find the right time to talk to Nicole.

At first, she had hoped that she might have a little time to talk on the Ski Lifts since they only sat two people. She had even managed to get herself on a lift with Nicole a few times but every time, when the moment finally came, she choked. All the pithy ways she had thought off to bring up the subject had died in her throat and she had instead leaned into the same topics as Mindy, the slopes and lunch.

She had sort of hoped that maybe Nicole would bring it up herself, maybe a joke or sly question that would give her a reason to vent. She could almost feel the pressure building up inside of her with every passing moment.

Yet the chance never came and in those fleeting moments, her nerve would abandon her.

So it was that the day played out, the group skiing and snowboarding, getting lunch and returning to the slopes. Eventually, Anna was able to forget about it all, at least for a little while.

Yet when they returned back to the lodge and everyone began to strip off their thick winter clothing, she caught sight of Kenny. His thick coat gone, the thin T-shirt beneath heavy with sweat. At that moment the warmth in her stomach returned with a vengeance.

Tonight I am going to talk to Nicole!
