Nope.

The Normandy flys over Eden Prime. Theres a massive burning crater on the planet that looks like a gapping wound. You and your squad talk to Anderson in the deployment hatch.

(Anderson): "Commander, your team's the muscle in this operation. Go heavy and head straight for the dig site."

(Kaiden): "What about survivors?"

(Anderson): "Helping survivors is a secondary objective. The beacon's your top priority."

(Joker): "Approaching drop point 1."

Jenkins looks to the side. "Nihlus? Are you coming with us?"

(Nihlus): "I move faster on my own." He jumps out while the ship is still flying.

(Anderson): "Nihlus will scout out ahead. He'll feed you status reports throughout the mission. Otherwise, I want radio silence."

(Shepard): "We got his back captain."

(Anderson): "The mission is yours now. Good luck."

(Joker): "We are approaching drop point 2."

The ship lands. There are massive trees on larg rocks all around you. It would be surine if it wasnt for the embers floating down from the sky like snowflakes.

You pass some gas bags wich you leave alone. You're not a monster that would use them for target practice. As you continue walking, you sence something is wrong. You motion for everyone to stay still. Not seeing the danger, you motion to start moving again. You and Kaidan move slowly but Jenkins walks right into the open and instantly dies to some drones. You rip through the drones in a matter of seconds, not even giving Kaiden a chance to fire. You walk to Jenkins and close his eyes.

(Kaiden): "Ripped right through his sheilds. Never had a chance."

(Shepard): "We'll see that he receives a proper service once the mission is complete, but we need to stay focused."

(Kaidan): "Aye, aye ma'am."

You keep walking, 1 tapping these completely unintimidating drones. Only an absolute loser could get killed by these things. A woman in white armor runs away from 2 drones. She gets shot in the back but she hardly seems fazed. Realizing these things aren't actually a threat, she stops running and destroys them with ease. She then turns her head and sees a man enjoying a Geth caressing his chest. She is horrified. Suddenly a spike impales the pervert and turns him into a husk. She hides behind a rock. You and Kaidan quickly destroy the Geth that was close to finding her. She stops hiding.

(Ashley Williams): "Gunnery cheif Ashley Williams of the 212. You the 1 in charge here ma'am?"

(Shepard): "Are you wounded Williams?"

(Ashley): "A few scrapes and burns, nothing serious. The others weren't so lucky. Oh man. We where patroling the perimiter when the attack hit. We tried to get off a distress call but they cut off our comuications. I've been fighting for my life ever since."

(Shepard): "Where's the rest of your squad?"

(Ashley): "We tried to double back to the beacon, but we walked into an ambush. I don't think any of the others... I think I'm the only 1 left."

(Shepard): "This isn't your fault. You couldn't have done anything to save them."

(Ashley): "Yes ma'am. We held our postition for as long as we could, until the Geth overwhelmed us."

(Kaiden): "The geth haven't been seen outside the Veil in nearly 200 years. Why are they here now?"

(Ashley): "They must have come for the beacon. The dig site is close. Just over that rise. It might still be there."

(Shepard): "We could use your help."

(Ashley): "Aye, aye ma'am. It's time for payback."

(Shepard): "What else do you know about the geth?"

(Ashley): "Just what I remember from history class. They're cynthetic. None organic life forms with limited AI programming created by the Quarian's a few centuries ago. They where suposed to be a source of cheap labor, but ended up turning on their creator's and drove them into exile. After that they went into hiding behind the Percious Veil. Nobody really heard much of them since. Well, until now."

(Shepard): "Move out."

As you all walk a little further you come across 3 geth. You take them out. Once they are taken out, Ashley comes to talk to you.

(Ashley): This is the dig site. The beacon was right here. It must have been moved."

(Kaiden): "Our side or the geth?"

(Ashley): "Hard to say. Maybe we'll know more after we check out the research camp."

(Shepard): "You think anyone got out of hear alive?"

(Ashley): "If they were lucky. Maybe hiding up at the camp? It's just at the top of this ridge up the ramps."

You go back to walking. You are attacked by a bunch of husks but they are not an issue. You hack the door of a near by shed open.

(Dr Warren): "Humans! Thank the maker."

(Dr Manuel): "Hurry! Close the door! Before they come back!"

(Shepard): "Don't worry, we'll protect you."

(Warren): "Thank you. I think we'll be ok now. It looks like everyone's gone."

(Ashley): "Your doctor Warren, the 1 in charge of the excavation. Do you know what happened to the beacon?"

(Warren): "It was moved to the space port this morning. Manuel and I stayed behind to help pack up the camp. When the attack came, the marines held them off long enough for us to hide. They gave their lives to save us."

(Manuel): "No 1 is saved. The age of humanity has ended. Soon, only ruin and corpses will remain."

(Shepard): "What's wrong with your assistant?"

(Warren): "Manuel has a brilliant mind, but he's always been a bit... unstable. Genius and madness are 2 sides of the same coin."

(Manuel): "Is it madness to see the future? To see the destruction rushing towards us? To understand there is no escape? No hope? No. I am not mad. I am the only sane 1 left."

(Warren): "I gave him a extra dose of his meds after the attack."

(Shepard): "Did you notice a turian in the area?"

(Manuel): "I saw him. The prophet. Leader of the enemy. He was here, before the attack."

(Kaiden): "That's impossible. Nihlus was with us on the Normandy before the attack. He couldn't have been here."

(Warren): "I'm sorry. He's still a bit... unsettled. We haven't seen your turian. We've been hiding in here since the attack."

(Shepard): "Williams, take us to the space port."

(Warren): "Good luck."

Meanwhile Nihlus is hiding by some buildings. He comes out of hiding and points his gun at a different turian. He then lowers his gun. "Saren?"

(Saren): "Nihlus."

(Nihlus): "This isn't your mission Saren. What are you doing hear?"

(Saren): "The Council thought you could use some help on this one." He places his hand on Nihlus's shoulder before walking past him.

(Nihlus): "I wasn't expecting to find the geth here. The situation is bad."

(Saren): "Don't worry." Lifts gun towards Nihlus's back. "I got it under control.

Back to Shepard. You walk past some rocks and see the Reaper silhouetted by a sunset. It fly's away gushing smoke. You then walk down hill and fight a hand full of geth. You hack another shed.

(Cole): "Everbody stay calm out there. We're comming out. We're not armed." 2 guys and a bald girl walk out.

(Farmer bald girl): "Is it safe? Are they gone?"

(Shepard): "You're OK now. Nobody is going to hurt you."

(Cole): "Those things were crawling all around the shed. They would have found us for sure. We owe you our lives."

(Farmer bald girl): "I- I still can't believe it. When we saw that ship I thought it was all over."

(Cole): "It showed up right before the attack. Knew it was trouble the second I saw it. So we made a break for the shed."

(Shepard): "What else can you tell me about the ship you saw?"

(Cole): "I was too busy running to get a clear look at it. I think it landed over near the space port."

(Farmer bald girl): "Tell them about the noise Cole. The awful noise."

(Cole): "It was emitting some kind of signal as it descended. Sounded like the shriek of the damned. Only it was coming from inside your head."

(Shepard): "It was probably trying to block communications."

(Cole): "Whatever it was, felt like it was tearing right through my skull. Almost made it impossible to think."

(Shepard): "I have to go."

(Farmer other guy): "Hey Cole. We're a bunch of farmers, these guys are soldiers. Maybe we should give them the stuff."

(Cole): "Jeez Blake. You gotta learn when to shut up!"

This Shepard is mostly going to be Paragon, however she will do Renegade actions from time to time. "If there's something you're not telling me."

(Cole): "Some guy's at the space port were running a small smuggling ring. Nothing major. In exchange for a cut of the profits, we let them store packages in our shed."

(Shepard): "You greedy bastard. You weren't running for your life, you were running to check on your merchandise."

(Cole): "No! It's not like that. I just... I just knew there were some packages here. Something we could use. I found a pistol. Figured it would come in handy if those things came back, but you'll probably get more use out of it than we will."

(Shepard): "We're risking our lives to save this colony. You sure there's nothing else in here that could help us out?"

(Cole): "Yeah, there's one more thing. I was going to sell it after this was over, but you probably deserve it more than I do."

(Ashley): "Who's your contact at the space port Cole?"

(Cole): "He's not a bad guy, I don't want to get him in trouble. Besides, I'm not a snitch."

(Shepard): "He might have something to do with this whole attack. We need his name. It's important."

(Cole): "Yeah, OK. You're right. His name is Powell. Works the docks at the space port, if he's still alive."

(Shepard): "I have to go."

(Cole): "Good luck."

You walk away. You find Nihlus dead on the ground.

(Ashley): "A turian? Do you know him?"

(Kaiden): "He's a Spectre. He was with us on the Nor-"

(Ashley): "Something's moving! Over behind those crates!"

(Powell): "Wait! Don't- don't shoot! I'm 1 of you. I'm human."

(Shepard): "Sneaking up on us nearly got you killed!"

(Powell): "I'm sorry, I was hiding from those creatures. My name is Powell. I saw what happened to that turian. The other 1 shot him."

(Shepard): "I need to know how Nihlus died."

(Powell): "The other 1 got hear first. He was waiting, when your friend showed up. He called him Saren. I think they knew each other. Your friend seemed to relax, he let his guard down. Then Saren killed him. Shot him right in the back. I'm just lucky he didn't see me behind the crates."

(Shepard): "We where told a Prothean Beacon was brought to the space port. What happened to it?"

(Powell): "Its over on the other platform. Probably where that guy Saren was heading. He hopped on the cargo train after he was done killing your friend. I knew that beacon was trouble. Everythings gone to hell since we found it. First that damn mother ship, then the attack. They killed everyone. Everyone! If I hadn't hid behind the crates I'd be dead too."

(Shepard): "You're Cole's contact here at the docks. For the smuggling ring."

(Powell): "What? No! I mean... what does it matter? So I'm a smuggler? Who cares? My supervisor is dead. The entire crew is dead. It doesn't matter now, dose it?"

(Shepard): "Anything hidden nearby that we could us against the geth?"

(Powell): "A shipment of grenades came through last week. Nobody notices if a few small pieces go missing from the military orders."

(Ashley): "You greedy son of a bitch! We're out hear protecting your sorry ass and all you can think about is how you can steal from us!?"

(Powell): "I never thought you'd actually need those grenades. Who'd want to attack Eden Prime? We're just a bunch of farmers. How was I supposed to know?"

(Shepard): "Forget about him, he's not worth it."

(Ashley): "You're lucky the commander is hear pal. Hand over those grenades."

(Powell): "They're yours, take them. My smuggling days are over I swear."

(Shepard.): "Alot of marines died hear Powell. Those grenades could have come in handy. If I was you, I'd think of some way to make it up to them."

(Powell): "Yeah, OK. Their is something else I was saving. Could be worth a fortune. Experimental technology. Top of the line. Take it. I don't need it. I didn't want anyone to get hurt, I'm sorry."

(Shepard): "How come you where the only 1 that survived? Why didn't anyone else try to hide behind the crates?"

(Powell): "They never had a chance. I was already behind the crates when the attacks started."

(Kaidan): "Why?"

(Powell): "Sometimes I need a nap top get through my shift."

(Ashley): "You survived because you're lazy?!"

(Shepard): "If you didn't sneak out for that nap, you'd probably be dead just like the other's."

(Powell): "Yeah, yeah I guess. I don't really want to think about it."

(Shepard): "We need to find that beacon before it's too late."

(Powell): "Take the cargo train. That's where the other turian went. I... I can't stay here. I need to get away from all this."

You fight some geth literally around the corner. They actually put up a fight this time. You then get on the train.

Meanwhile Saren talks to a geth. "Set the charges. Destroy the entire colony. Leave no evidence that we were hear." He then walks to the beacon wich lifts him into the air.

Back to Shepard who arrives at her destination. You see a geth setting up a bomb and starts fighting. Afterwards you disarm the bombs. After that you find the beacon. Kaiden gets too close to it and starts getting pull towards it. Thinking he's in danger, you run over a push him out of the way robbing him the chance of being the protagonist of the games. You get lifted into the air and see some visions. A stranger chatches you just before you can hit the ground. He then steals your role as the protagonist of this book.

(Sorry. I said it was Ashley who got lifted by the beacon but in a fem shep run its Kaiden who gets lifted. I'm watching 2 playthroughs of the game. 1 were the player only picks paragon options and 1 were the player only picks the most entertaining dialog options. The Paragon 1 is fem shep while the entertaining 1 is male shep. Thats why I made the mistake. So if you read this chapter before and rember it was Ashley who got lifted, your not going crazy.)
