Chapter 2 by Bushdid9/11 Bushdid9/11

Does Carrie try to change?

Nope

Carrie considered just calling the whole thing off at that moment, but remembered how happy it had made Penny in the first place when she had agreed to go with her yesterday. “Fine, let’s just get this over with.” And with that, Carrie brushed the dark hair out of her eyes, tightened the drawstring of her bottoms, and followed her friend out the door.

"Wonderful!" And so, Ms. Ward started to lead the way out of the apartment, down towards the main field of play, so to speak. There was a local park just across the street, one that was large enough and dense enough to provide a fulfilling path to run down. By Penny's calculations, taking into consideration her average timing and subtracting what she estimated Carrie's to be, she reasoned that they could do three laps in a little over fifty minutes. Not bad at all for a morning run. "You know, I don't think I've ever seen you smile." She noted to Carrie as she made her way to the elevator and stepped inside. "You're quite the grumpy little toad person."

Penelope thought she saw the corner of Carrie’s mouth twitch upward just the slightest bit as she processed the insult. “And you’re an overly cheerful fitness motivator from hell,” Carrie replied as she climbed in after and pressed the button for the first floor, “so i guess that makes us the perfect match.” Penelope laughed heartily at this but Carrie didn’t get what was so funny.

"Well, I would admit that's a pretty accurate assessment." The young woman admitted as the metal box began its descent. "But hey, what's wrong with a bit of cheer now and again? We're going for a run, not licking the toilet seats at a Covid testing centre. There's nothing to be so gloomy about." Her grin became slightly less pronounced. "By the way, hun, your shorts are sagging a wee bit."

What Happens to Carrie’s Shorts?
