Nobody today

Sadly you only usually saw Emma when walking home as she was dropped off by her Mom in the mornings. You knew Grace usually went to the gym most mornings and had unsuccessfully tried to convince your Mom to join her. Occasionally you got a lift with them if the weather was bad or you were running late but you felt it would be a bit rude to make it a regular thing.

With a bit of free time on your hands and making sure you were far enough away from home, You pulled out your phone and loaded the KDK app.

A new image also appeared as default on her status of her in her pajamas about to hug you before you left earlier. You didn't spend much time staring at it before realising you were technically in public. Well, the app did say nobody could see your phone but you didn't wanna take that chance.

Also, the fact that the system was able to track your morning hug was making you reconsider whether you believed in all this. You were slowly leaning more and more towards it being true. In terms of the app's functions, it also lets you know that unlike registering you didn't need constant contact with a subject to keep your progress to level people up.

So far you had only tested it on people who were already close to you but if you tested it on just a passerby or an acquaintance then maybe you could get a clearer picture of how this all worked.

The trouble is, actually touching someone you barely know for 5 seconds is tricky, let alone a potential crime if someone takes it the wrong way. It's not worth the risk of picking someone at random. There's a lot of crazies out there and if you start randomly grabbing people you'll end up getting into trouble sooner rather than later.

With strangers out of the picture, you contemplated and were able to narrow down who the best subject would be for the remainder of your walk.

After one final change to your makeshift plan and checking the KDK you barely made it to school before the bell rang. You rushed towards your first class. You'd been at this school long enough now to know the corridors like the back of your hands. Knowing which hallways would be the quietest made you get to class in the nick of time.

You sat down at your desk towards the back of the class and directed your attention towards the desk at the front of the room. This gave you an opportunity to watch the subject you had chosen in the flesh. You'd decided on one of your teachers Mrs Ryan.

She'd been your biology teacher over the last few years and although you wouldn't class her as a friend, you had some conversations with her after class, discussing topics other than what was being taught. You knew her first name was Rebecca but that wasn't much of a secret. Another teacher had walked into the class one day and started calling her ‘Becky’, which from her reaction and the fact that he never called her that again proved that she didn't like it.

You also knew a little bit about her past. You knew she had only been teaching for a few years now and this was her first proper job outside of her training. If you had to guess you'd say she was in her mid-twenties but she hid her looks well to avoid any students or parents making unnecessary comments. Out of all the teachers, you considered her to be the most attractive.

Trying not to stare too much, you went through your plans to test her for the system. Making it seem like an accident wasn't going to fly. Even if you did get the 5 seconds in, getting her to the next level would be even more difficult. You'd have to have an actual reason to touch her and hopefully a reason to carry on doing so in the future.

The lesson flew by as you switched between following along with the class and running through your plan again and again. The bell rang and you watched as all your classmates slowly filed out of the room until it was only just you and Rebecca left.

“Can I help you Max?” she queried, noticing you had stayed behind.
