Embarrassed about what you just did, you decide to just forget about it. Lauren is with you now. You two are living together, and things are going great. Why would you want to mess it up with something like this? So, you just try to put it out of your mind. However, every few weeks it seemed to reappear in the back of your mind, and you would just brush it off again.

Then one night Lauren comes home, gives you a big hug, and excitedly tells you, "They selected me to go to the regional conference this year. I get first-class air travel, a hotel suite, and all expenses are paid. Normally only the tops sales earners go, but someone put in a good word for me, and they are letting me go. This could really jump-start my career."

She is so happy that she has tears running down her face. You give her a big hug telling her how happy you are for her.

A few weeks later she is starting to pack for the trip and you sit on the bed next to her bag. You notice a lot of lace and some tight-fitting skirts going into it. You ask her, "So who all is going?"

"Well…me, Tina, a bunch of people I don’t know from the other offices, and, um, John." She replies.

You noticed a slight hesitation in her voice before she said John.
