You spend most of the day working and thinking about the upcoming date. By the time the clock reads five-thirty, your eyes are sore and your brain aches, but all of the work is completed. Your boss can't hold it against you, and there's nothing standing between you and your date with Kali.

Ariana is at home when you get there. You find her upstairs in the bedroom, sitting at the vanity doing her make up. She has already changed into the sexy white dress she'd shown you the other night, the dress Matt had urged her to wear, and her hair is swept up, leaving her neck bare and elegant.

"You're beautiful," you say, leaning against the door frame. "You look fantastic."

"Thanks. I still can't believe I'm going out to Chez Mignon," she said, her lips pulling into a nervous smile. "How was your day? You were late."

"I got reamed out for that," you tell her.

"That sucks," Ariana replies, applying her eyeliner.

"My boss threatened to make me stay late if I didn't finish everything," you continue, and your wife looks at you in the mirror. "But I finished, so I didn't have to stay."

"Yeah, didn't you say you were working late tonight?" she asks, confused. "I thought that's why you couldn't come to dinner with us."

You feel a jolt of panic. You totally forgot about the excuse you'd given your wife about your work schedule. In all the excitement, it slipped your mind.
