Shakily, you stood up. You had no idea how this would go. "Ms. Jensen, while I appreciate the offer, I am afraid I must turn it down. I love where I am. Even if it means I'm a small-time lawyer for the rest of my life, I'll still stay at the place I built with the people I built it with. As for Dillon, I'm not sure what our future looks like just yet, but I can't give it up."

She looked at you for a moment, unchanging and unblinking, before letting out a sigh. "It was worth a shot," she groaned before slipping her swimsuit back on. "You can't blame a woman for trying. Fine, then. I suppose I shall support your efforts another way: I'll help invest in your firm. Resources, accesses, money... Of course, I will negotiate this with Aubrey, but she will know I am doing it for you."

"W...why?" You asked, clearly shocked by her turnabout.

"Because you are a rising tide. You will make her a lot of a money and grant her so much prestige as the head of the firm; I would be stupid not to tie myself to you. My initial plan was to take you for myself, but it seems that not even that could work." She shrugged her shoulders and gave you a smile, "you're quite the resilient negotiator. A weaker man would have broken under that pressure."

You didn't want to admit that you almost did. For now, you simply thanked her and hurried back to your room. You were horny, confused, and tired. All it took was a quick shower and then you threw yourself into the bed with Dillon and passed out.
