I laugh, shaking my head. “Not tonight. I think I’ve had enough excitement for one night.”

Selena pouts dramatically. “Lame. But fine, I’ll let you off the hook this time. Just don’t make a habit of skipping out early. We’re a fun crowd, and you’ll miss all the best stuff.”

“I’ll hold you to that,” I reply, giving her a playful nudge.

As I gather my things, Willow claps her hands together. “Wait! Before you go, we need to get a picture. You know, to commemorate your first party with us!”

I find myself in the middle of the group, surrounded by the girls. Selena’s arm draped over my shoulder, she flashes a grin at her phone as Willow poses dramatically beside me. The flash goes off, capturing my slightly disheveled hair and flushed cheeks.

“There,” Selena says, checking the photo. “Now you’re officially part of our shenanigans. I’ll send it to you later.”

I thank them and head out, making my way back to my dorm. The cool night air felt refreshing after the buzz of the party, it wasn’t how I imagined my first college party would go, but it was fun.

As I walk, my phone buzzes. It’s a message from Selena, along with the picture of me and the rest of the group.

“Welcome to the group chat, newbie! Hope you’re ready for more nights like tonight.”

I chuckle, typing back a quick reply. “Thanks! Hopefully I’ll see you guys soon.”

I then finally arrive back at my dorm and get into bed, quickly falling asleep after the night’s events.
