“No way,” I say, “I’ll stay down here. I don’t think I want the kind of fun you’re talking about.”

“Suit yourself,” he says, “When my wife gets back, tell her I went upstairs.” He heads off on his own leaving me by myself. I feel even more self-conscious now that I’m alone and I hope no one comes up to me.

Much to my embarrassment I hear behind me, “Dennis? I thought that was you, but I wasn’t sure.”

I look to see my boss from work. He’s wearing a vampire costume. “I think I can guess who won your annual bet.”

“Yeah, get your laughs out,” I say.

“I’ll do you one better,” he says and he brings his phone out and takes a picture. “Everyone at work is going to love seeing this,” he says and he laughs as he walks away.

My wife and Priscilla finally return. They unfold the stroller in front of me. “Macy showed me the picture, but I have to see it in real life. Please get in it.”

“But everyone will see,” I say.

“Please?” she says.

“Alright, fine,” I say. At this point what did it matter anyway.

I get in the stroller and Priscilla takes her phone out and starts taking pictures. Much to my dismay a bunch of people around us notice and a crowd begins to form. Tons of them take pictures too, but soon enough they grow bored and move on.

“Can I get out now?” I ask

Macy grabs my pacifier and shoves it in my mouth, “Shhh. Babies aren’t supposed to talk. Just sit there and be good.”

“Well, I think I’ll go join Brendan upstairs,” Priscilla says. She then leans down to me in the stroller and says, “Now you be a good girl for your mother.” She snickers as she walks away.
