You run.

The fear of being caught is clearly a good motivator for speed.

Alas, it is not enough.

You're mind is trying to calculate the possibility of shifting into your cougar guise to increase your speed. But there is no escape, as you suddenly feel a great weight, like a sack of cement, hit you from behind.

You plough to the ground, and you can swear you feel something crack. The heavy weight falls on top of you.

You can't breathe.

A great fear grips your heart and you feel helpless.

They will surely hurt you, maybe even kill you.

At best, you might walk away here today, with a mutant pup-kitten-thing, growing inside you.

If they let you go, that is.

The wolf rhat caught you, now lays on top of you. He gets up quickly and picks you up.

Several other members of the pack catch up and start sniffing at you, some even try to claw at you.

But the wolf that caught you, clearly a sort of second in command, holds you away from them, and proceeds to carry you back to the wolf from before.

You try to wriggle out of his grip. But his hands are like iron shackles.

The fear in your heart remains, and you feel tears welling up in your eyes.

You've not even been given the chance to build a life, and it's already been stripped away from you.

You clearly didn't make it very far, and it takes only a few seconds, a minute at most, before you're back at the clearing.

"My, my, mr Cat, did you really think you could run away?"

You don't respond.

"Oh come now, where's that fighting spirit you lot are known for?"

The wolf that caught you sets you on the ground, but remains nearby, incase you try to run again.

It wouldn't get matter anyway, the wolves suround you once more, they snarl and growl and yip like puppies, overall being very noisy.

"Fargo, take the pack back, leave the kitten with me, yeah?"

You only hear an affirmative grunt before the wolves that surrounded you all leave, after the one called Fargo.

Once silence returns, you hear the birds again. They chirp gleefully, as if nothing happened.

"I decided to take you up on that offer, and perhaps as a show of good faith, I won't kill you, yeah?"

You don't quite understand. But he explains.

"You help establish me in this territory, and in return I'll spare you and your family from, lets say, any of the more violent members of my pack, deal?"

You can do nothing but nod.

"Oh don't worry mr Cat, we'll get along swimmingly, like cats and dogs, as they say"

"Or is that rain?"
