Chapter 22
by SingingLark
Will Liandra notice the dagger?
No
"Everything will be alright. No one is going to harm you again" Liandra promised even if she had no way to uphold her promise. She heard the sound of the knife dropping to the ground, and tried not to judge the despaired woman. She held Ophelia for as long as the other woman needed.
Things were truly over. Without the dragon binding the demons to that place, the few surviving demons fled from the ruins, many to fall prey to the powerful monsters that still lived in the forest. Liandra and Ophelia buried the dead, no small task, and Ophelia spoke a few words for their souls.
They spent the entire day working, and at night Liandra was exhausted. She took her harp and played a melancholic tune, a requiem for the dead, and Ophelia just laid languid by her side. When Liandra was done, Ophelia was sound asleep. She woke her up, if only to carry the white summoner back to her bedroom.
Liandra laid the half asleep woman on her bed, she looked so angelical. The princess was going to just kiss her cheek and wish good night, but Ophelia turned her face in the very last moment, and their lips connected. Liandra wondered how like kissing a rose it was, from the fragrant perfume to the softness of her lips. She felt so confused, and the kiss was so simple, she lingered on the sensation, wishing it a soft lullaby to the tortured sorceress. When she felt Ophelia nimble on her lower lip, her pearly teeth snaring her with a longing passion, her surprise made her briefly gasp, enough of a time for Ophelia´s tongue to caress Liandra's, the first truly intimate gesture she ever shared with another person.
A sudden guilt washed inside her chest, she knew it wrong, a blasphemy. She could feel the alchemy brewing as their saliva mixed, and rested her hand in bed, accepting that the weakness of the moment was turning longer. Ophelia silky fingers caressed her cheek, and trailed the contour of her ear. Their lips briefly parted, Liandra felt so numb, when Ophelia pulled her closer she suddenly found a tongue not merely visiting, but invading her mouth, a sudden hunger that terrified her. She jolted back, scared, leaving the summoner momentarily befuddled.
"I am sorry" Ophelia said, and turned to the side, giving her back to the princess. She sounded hurt and ****, and Liandra´s heart beat with the same adrenalin as when she faced the dragon.
Leave now, and avoid hurting her more?
