"Oh....uh...yeah sure mate" detecting in her tone disappointment and yet oddly perhaps relief as well.

"Wha...Oh yeah, no worries mate" She said managing a small smile."

He kept his promise of course, and as he went through college and she went through University they kept up the voice and video chats, played games and chatted about all their adventures, they remained as friends and even close friends.
