No secrets

The next morning, as you’re packing up camp, Yura walks over, looking curiously at Maya. Maya smiles at the little selkie as she just stares for a while. “What is it Yura? Is something wrong?”

Yura shakes her head. “Something is different. Your aura is...changed. May I check something?”

Maya nods, and Yura places a small brown hand on Maya’s stomach, drawing a blush and a giggle from the half-dragon. After a moment, Yura takes a step back and blushes slightly. “I am...happy for you, Maya. Maybe even a little jealous.”

Maya cocks her head. “What do you mean?”

Yura gives the two of you a small smile. “Congratulations. You and Josh are going to be parents.”

Maya gasps, lightly touching her stomach. “You can tell that already?”

Yura nods. “I read the future, not your biology. You are pregnant, or you are about to be. The child will be healthy. I will not say any more, you should experience it yourself.”

There’s a gasp, and Anna runs over. “Did...did I hear that right? Maya, did it happen?”

Maya nods, both hands on her stomach. A tear rolls down her cheek as she smiles. Anna squeals and leaps onto Maya, hugging her tightly. “I’m so happy for you! You and master!”

Maya giggles, wiping her eyes. “That means you’re next, Anna. And Kali, and Lynn, and apparently Yura..”

You laugh. “Ok, calm down...one at a time, we need to focus on the mission right now, so all our kids have a good place to grow up.”

Yura looks at you. “Do you mean it, Josh? You would...give me this gift as well?”

You chuckle. “You too, Yura? Yes. If that’s what you want, then yes.”

Yura gives you a bigger smile. “Thank you.”

As you talk, the rest of the girls wander over, and soon everyone is celebrating the good news. You see ideas forming in several girls heads as the discussion continues. At some point, Sadie pulls you aside with a serious look on her face.

She smiles. “Congratulations, Joshie. I wanted to talk to you. Umm...you know djinn can’t have children, right?”

You nod. “I was told that, yes. Why do you ask?”

Sadie blushes, something you don’t see often. “I wanted to be sure you still want me around when you start having kids...”

“Of course I do! Sadie, this isn’t some sort of weird breeding project. You’re family! I will always want you here. Besides, kids will love you!”

Sadie giggles. “And I love kids! Uzume and I can be the silly ones!”

“There’s the Sadie I love!”

Sadie smiles. “Thank you Josh. I worry about my place here sometimes. And again, congratulations, daddy!

You roll your eyes.
