No other choice

"Dana you're with me. Ally... keep him safe." She nods to Ally, who nods back.

"Hold up-" you start but are quickly shushed down.

"We are here to protect YOU. I don't want to go alone and we certainly can't leave you by yourself or take you towards the danger. So that is that." Dana is already out the door as Ally, gently but firmly, plants you on the couch.

"You better come back, safe and sound." You try to sound paternal.

"With Tasha, no less." Replies Priscilla before she duck out into the snow. You watch them trudge along the path, pausing only to look back at the cabin when they hit the tree line. You wave and then they are gone, swallowed up by the wilderness.

Seconds stretch as you come back to the couch and wait. Normally this would be the perfect time to make use of the privacy with Ally but your mind and whatnot have other more pressing concerns. So the pair of you awkardly wait.

Twenty minutes become fifty, fifty minutes become two hours, Ally paces.

You try to not think about the terrible fate that mught have befallen the others.
