No new missions today

When you wake up, you send Zhang to have the three Team Leaders come to your room at eight. They arrive just after your breakfast, so you brief them while eating. "We did a really good job yesterday, so today, let's give everyone a break. Inform your teams to take it easy today. The only thing I have for them is to clear empty apartments. Take anything useful and redistribute it as needed. Empty a few for storage, and make sure we have a few furnished for new arrivals."

"Are we expecting any newcomers, sir?" asks Foreman.

You shake your head. "Not at the time being, but it never hurts to be prepared. Speaking of, Mills, I want you to look around and see which windows on the first and second floors would make good machine gun emplacements. It's been quiet lately, but that can change in a heartbeat." They depart to brief their teams and you finish your breakfast in silence. You put your dishes in the sink and ruefully think about making Melissa your maid as well as your cook, complete with a French maid outfit. You could have a bell system, like a Victorian era lord to summon her or other servants. You chuckle, not because it's never going to happen, but because you could make it happen with a snap of your fingers. Still, no sense in depriving one of your most reliable people of his wife. Yet.

Gathering your growing pile of paperwork onto your desk, you start doing some calculations on how long your current supplies will last you. You have plenty, for the time being, but looting will only last you so long. You are going to need a long term solution for food, and that means planting crops. A couple of solutions do come to mind. You could use the rooftop. It's safe and secure, so you could farm your crops without worrying about being attacked. The downsides are that it's a smaller area, and it will be hard work bringing all the dirt up to the roof. The other idea is the big, empty lot next to the building. Some developer bought the land and demolished the old building, and then got caught up in red tape and weren't able to start new construction. For months, it was an eyesore that the residents complained about, and now it might be their salvation. The problem with the lot was, it was outside the building on the ground floor. You'd have to build a wall around it in order to keep enemies at bay.

There was one more, glaring problem that affects both potential solutions. You don't know how to farm. You could always hit a local library for books on how to farm, amongst many other useful guides, but that's kind of a big risk to take, betting your survival on a first time farmer. Better to survey the residents to see if any of them have experience farming. Once again, you curse the lack of cell phones. Getting a bell to summon someone to your room suddenly sounds a lot more practical. You get up and leave your apartment, heading towards the Carter's place. You walk in to find Melissa and Alyssa sitting down on the couch, chatting. It strikes you that most of your residents have nothing to do all day.

Melissa jumps up when she sees you enter. "Hey, Boss! Were you hungry? I can make more if you'd like."

With a shake of your head, you reply, "No, thank you, you made me plenty. And it was all delicious. I was actually looking for someone to go around and survey all the other residents to see if anyone has any farming skills." You see a notepad on her kitchen counter. "In fact, if you could see if they have any useful skills, just write them down for me."

"Of course! Right away, Boss!" She gets up and Alyssa moves to go with her, then stops.

"Ummm, is it okay if I go with her, Boss?" She asks shyly. Alyssa was a chubbier girl, thought it suits her well, with large breasts and a large, if dumpy, ass. She has glasses on her cute, round face, and you know that she is the nerdy type.

"If you'd like to, I would appreciate your help," you tell her. You leave the two women to their task and return to your room. About an hour later, they return, handing you the list. You do a quick scan to see if anyone has any farming experience, and two of them do. Walter, which isn't very surprising, and Natasha, who does surpise you. You don't know much about her, except that she lives alone, recently immigrates from Russia, always has a cold look on her face, and has massive tits. The biggest in the building. Now that you know, you consider having them come to your room now to discuss or focusing on other problems for the time being.
