No lazing about!

"Yes, she's being punished." Lauren mother explained. "She streaked across school and got arrested.

"Lauren.... went streaking?" Daryl asked, his brain struggling to compute this strange information.

"That's right." Their mother said before turning her attention on Lauren. "Speaking of punishment, you're not going to just get to spend your time lazing on the couch! It's obvious that you do too much of that anyway, judging from your backside."

"Mom!" Lauren squealed, aghast that her mother was dissing her body in front of her step brother!

"Get up and put the groceries away." Her mother insisted, setting three grocery bags down and crossing her arms.

Lauren, knowing objection would just bring more punishment, awkwardly stood. Hunching over, she shuffled with the pillow over her front, then scooped up one of hte bags of groceries and used it to replace the pillow and cover her body. Then awkwardly she crab walked to the kitchen, Daryl watching as she went, to put the groceries away.
