You look up at him with lidded and seductive eyes. Your breaths were slow, deep, and warm, and your heart was pounding like a war drum under your chest plate. “Ceno,” you say with a soft purr in your voice as you draw closer to the prince’s chest, “I don’t want to leave.”

Ceno shivers as you slowly place your head on his chest and nuzzle him through his fur-trimmed robes. As your cheeks brushed up against his chest you could hear the sound of his heart beating as wildly as yours. “Xira,” he pants softly, “I…Is this the heat talking.”

You chuckle and smile, “Ceno, if my heat did all the talking then of those songs about me spreading my legs for every man that I met would all be true. No, you still have to impress an Amazon to mate with us, or get us to fall in love with you.”

Ceno, still trembling, lightly places both hands on your upper arms and gently pushes you back so he can look you in the eye. “So…have I impressed you or are you…in love with me?” As he says these last four words his cheeks turn a darker red and a hint of shy hopefulness shows in his eyes.

“I’m…not sure yet,” you answer timidly, “A little of both I suppose. You may not have the strength that an Amazon is looking for but…you are as noble as they come. Any woman would be lucky to have you.”

“What…What if I want you to be that woman?” he asks shyly, “You are the Queen of your lands, you could change the laws to where you could take on a king.”

You chuckle at his oversimplification, “You sound just like Prince Iasos.”

Ceno smirk apologetically, “You’re not going to headbutt me too, are you?”

“No,” you giggle as the tension breaks momentarily, “But all the same, I still need to turn your down. You see…if we were to mate…It…could possibly break the curse.” After you say this you look lovingly into Ceno’s very hopeful eyes. “I love you, and that love makes it too dangerous Ceno.”

What you see next in Ceno’s eyes is a mix of excitement and bitter disappointment. Excitement, for now he knew you felt the same was he did but disappointment as he realizes just how many problems your relationship will cause. “I…,” he said breathlessly, breaking the long silence that hung over you, “I love you too Xira. Are…are you sure that my loving you…having a child with you will break the curse?...W-what will happen to your Sisters if that happens?”

“I am the focal point for the Ares' curse,” you say somberly, feeling just as upset as he was at being **** so far apart and yet at such a short distance, “If…anything happens to me…the Amazons might cease to exist.”

“Can’t you sister take over?” he asks trying to fish for a way for you to be together.

“There are only two of us left Ceno,” you reply softly, “Just me and my sister. I’m sorry but we can’t take that risk.”

“Can…can your curse even be broken?” he asks, again desperately trying to find a way for you to be with him.

“I don’t know,” you say in the most comforting way you can, “A Daughter of Aries has never fallen in love before.”

Ceno let out a long sigh of defeat as he was running out of excuses, “Well, it’s better than no, I guess. If only there was a way to ask Aphrodite what will happen. If only the gods weren’t so quiet.”

As he becomes lost in thought once more, this time to think of some way to be with you, you lightly brush your hand under his chin and draw his eyes towards yours. “Ceno,” you say with a warm and seductive smile, “My body still burns for you. I can’t let you mate with me,” you then unclip the chain male linking your shoulder pads to your armor and let the pads and your cape slide off of your shoulders, leaving them bare, “But you can still love me.”
