Thats it?

No, there's more.

Chapter 16 by crono04

The girls and I parted ways, them walking back into the locker room for something and me running toward a good place to hide out until they stopped looking for me. I ducked into a supply room and put a chair under the knob to keep it from turning. A dead give away if they tried it, but no more so than finding me inside. I found to my amazement that my cell had decent reception in here, so I dialed Eddie. This time he picked up.

"Hello," he answered.

"Eddie, where are you?"

"I'm at the place where me and Steph came in."

He never called her 'Steph'. "Is she with you?"

"Yeah, she's here. We're both alright."

"Good to know. We need to get out quick."

"What? Why, man?"

"Because someone knows we're here and they don't like it. They just barricaded me in the locker room I went into."

Eddie's voice sounded more serious than before. "Are you serious?"

"Deadly. I managed to get out, but now I have a roomful of girls minus two making a beeline to security to report me."

"You got caught!?" He sounded genuinely let down, like seeing Bane cripple Batman.

"Sort of," I said trying to restore his confidence in me. "I couldn't avoid the girls finding me, but we can still evade security. How quick can you and Stephanie get to the car?"

"Maybe five minutes."

"Good. Start heading there as soon as I hang up. Call Geezer on your way; I'll get Weasel." Then I hung up. No sooner had I hung up than the phone vibrated. The Caller ID said Weasel, so I answered it.

"So you got out, huh?" It was the woman from before.

"What? You did that," I said, anger in my voice.

"Sure did. I should have know that that alone wouldn't do in the famous Dirty Ghost of KU. Things like that are a trifle for you, aren't they?"

"How do you know about that?" I had my suspicions. Weasel, you snitching little fuck...

She sighed dramatically. "Oh, Newton, you're always so cautious except where you need to be. Ah, well. It worked out so well for me these last few years, but now, I think I'll go ahead and end this. Come out onto the roof of this building, would you please? There's a fire escape outside the window at the end of the hall there. If you hurry, you can get to it before St. Bailey's Swine arrive. See you there." She hung up with those creepy last words sticking in my head.

I don't remember running to the window or climbing. But as long as I live, I won't forget what greeted me on the roof.
