Chapter 4 by ZZss22 ZZss22

Is this the end of the world?

No, it's just a pink sky

"Alex? Get up, you have to see this..." Ophelia brought Alex out of his state of fear with her words, which although sounded with fear, but it was enough, and with pushes of his shoulder.

When the flash disappeared, everything was exactly the same, yet something was unmistakably wrong. Alex had fallen to the floor, his legs giving out from under him. Ophelia rushed to his side, her hands gentle as she helped him up. The house was darker than it had been, as if someone had dimmed the lights for a romantic rendezvous.

They stumbled into the backyard, their eyes drawn to the sky.

"I don’t know what happened, but this is not normal, do you have any theories?" Ophelia sked with fear in her voice

"I don't know, at first I thought it was a nuclear explosion." Alex actually thought the same thing now, but looking at the unhealthy pink sky he doubted more and more

The pink sky looked so surreal, the light reflecting from the atmosphere looked darker, but it was still light outside, although it looked like stage lighting, not natural. The once blue heavens had transformed into a pinkish hue that seemed to pulse with an eerie life of its own. The clouds above had morphed into shapes that made Alex's heart race—phallic and lustfull forms that danced together in an erotic ballet. He turned to Ophelia, who was staring up at the sky with a mix of wonder and embarrassment.

"Do you see that?" he asked, his voice hoarse.

"Yes," she murmured, her cheeks flushing a darker shade of pink to match the sky. "It's like... it's like nothing I've ever seen before."

They stumbled back inside, collapsing onto the velour couch. The TV flickered to life, and the weatherman's calm voice washed over them, explaining the phenomenon.

"According to our latest information, this phenomenon has spread throughout the entire globe," they both sat with shocked expressions on their faces until the man continued, "But a scientists, in particular chemists and physicists, say, we have nothing to fear, since there is no dangerous substance." This was a relief for both friends, but they still continued to look further, "However, astronomers say that this phenomenon is possibly associated with the fall of a comet, which, according to their own statement, should have destroyed the earth, but this did not happen."

"Well, now we don’t have to be afraid, right?" Ophelia looked at the alex who didn’t even think that something like this could happen on this very day, it all seemed a little surreal, until something happened that put Alex in an even stranger position.

Something strange is happening and Alex notices it.
