No, On to Other Problems

There are going to be points I'm going to skip the story ahead. This presumes you know the Buffy storyline, so I'll just hit the differences, big notes.

With a belly full of Xander cum, Amy (with her mother inhabiting her body) was able to make the cheerleading team with one of the best try out performances. As such, there was (currently) no need for further magical highjincks, so the girl's hands who caught on fire just went down as unsolved magical problem.

Buffy made the team as well. Eventually, Sunnydale's generally dangerous nature created an opening for her to bump up to.

Ms. French had no need to target Xander, so he was not invited as one of the people to be possible lab assistants for her.

Xander leaned back in his chair as he did his best to focus on the reading. He had been at it for a few hours: Willow would have been through multiple books by this point, but he was still on his first. There were a lot of monsters out there who decapitated people and, he couldn't believe he was saying this, they were getting rather boring.

"Research not really your thing?" he heard behind him.

He, of course, immediatly fell backwards and was greeted to the sight of Darla standing above him. "Oh, hi mysterious woman who shows up at strange times."

"Yes, hi," she said as she looked at the book. "Decapitations?"

"School science teacher lost his head," Xander said as he picked himself up. He noticed there were deep wounds in her arm. "You're hurt."

She backed away as he reached out, "I'll be fine. There is a new vampire in town. A favorite of the Master's. He's had his hand replaced with a claw."

"Thank you for being specific," Xander said.

"Yeah, I usually try to avoid the cryptic angle. He's been around the park."

"And I take it he's going to do a lot of damage if a Slayer doesn't finish him off," Xander said as he rubbed his head in thought.

"Problem?"

"Buffy has been on a limited schedule, especially since she joined cheerleading. She doesn't have a lot of energy to go around."

"Aren't you the one who is supposed to deal with that?"

Xander didn't want to go into how he and Buffy barely talked at all. If it wasn't for the Watcher keeping him around, he probably wouldn't even be briefed about what was going on. "Yeah, we're not exactly...bonding."

"You know, there are other options."
