My mother had always warned me against talking with strangers, and even though that was a big part of being a trainer, I was not about to get into more trouble. Waving at the man but continuing on my way, I shook my head at his repeated requests for me to join him. He eventually went back to tending his garden, thankfully leaving me alone.

The rest of Route 30 was uneventful, my eyes keeping peeled for both trainers and possible wild Pokémon. I still had quite a ways to go before I could fill out my team!
