Nightmares unto dawn

Across town the evening of the diner, Lilly and Moon were also getting ready for bed. Understandably, there was significantly less sexual activity going on as they got into their beds. Their apartment wasn’t tiny by any stretch, however with the home gym taking up the other room they had been stairing the bedroom. Now, with the weight of what had been revealed to them, the fact they were together was a source of comfort.

Moon looked over as her sister climbed into her bed. “Lilly?”“What Moon?” “What they said, how much do you think they are right?” “I don’t know, they said they know about the laws and they both got the information from different sources. A part of me really wants to believe they are wrong but… Jackson.” “Ya, the look in his eyes when he told us…” “You saw it to?” “I kind of wish I hadn’t. He looked so worried. I think we have to take the idea seriously.”

As the two sisters lay on their beds they both considered the coming trials. They thought about their friend when they were childhood friend. The once bright young girl who had been taken then broken in body and mind. How it had taken years under the chair of a loving family, with the support of the tribe and several doctors had she been able to recover and have some semblance of a real life. In some ways she had been one of the lucky ones. She had been found and helped. Others had just vanished.

Later that night Lilly woke in a cold sweat from a nightmare of grasping hands tearing at her and cruel laughter, across the room she could hear her sister whimper and thrash in her bed. Despite her own fears Lilly climbed out of her bed and slipped into her sisters. Like when they were children, she hugged her sister to her. Slowly, the familure touch and smell of her sister soothed her fears chasing away the nightmares.

The morning light found the sisters huddled together. There was an unspoken agreement reached between the two. While breakfast cooked Moon called Jackson, her phone on speaker. “Hello?” “Jackson, its Moon and Lilly is here.” “Ok?” “That thing we talked about last night. We came to a decision, if your offer is still open we would like to take you up on it.” The releaf in his voice was loud and clear. “Oh, ok, I’ll see what I need to get ready on my end and you should call Dr. Jesika. She may have some recommendations for you two.” Moons blush was mirrored on Lillies as she looked over to her sister. Both remembered the hungry look in the eyes of the Dr. from last night. They both suspected the nature any suggestions she may have. “If your sure?” “I am. She may come of a certain way but she is a professional and takes her job seriously.”

The conversation after that was lighter with them trying to reschedule in preparation. Jack had to cancel a class at the gym as his supplement instructions were adamant that he needed to spend as much time as possible in his house and that he needed to limit contact with women after the first week taking them. Finally they hung up with a promise to call Dr. Jes.

The call to the Dr. wouldn’t be made until after the breakfast dishes were done and both sisters had moved to their couch. “Hello Dr. Nordane speaking.” “Hello Dr. it’s Moon and Lilly we called Jackson and accepted his offer.” “Oh! Girls, that is wonderful. I’m so glad to hear that. Oh, if your calling me… no, not over the phone. When is the soonest you two can come in to my clinic. I need to do a full workup and check for anything. Then we will need to have a very in depth talk about what you two wont and what we can do.” The sisters were surprised at Jes’s excitement. However, she seemed to have reasonably good intentions. “Uh we don’t have any classes today and we can have the staff handle things. Does 1 pm work?” “Let me check, ok I can set up an appointment let me just tell my receptionist, and good. Please be on time girls the faster we get things started the better fore everyone.”

With the phone call ended the sisters took a moment to just stair and absorb what had just happened. “Why do I feel like I just agreed to walk into lions den naked?” “I think we both know. Hope this isn’t too awkward. Let me call our staff and let them know we probably won't be in.”
