What happens next?
Night falls
After collecting more than enough samples, Dana retires to bed wrapped in your arms, and you watch as she falls asleep. You settle down to wait for morning. Tonight though, something disturbs your customary watch. At first you think it's nothing. The moon is full and shines down brightly letting observe your surroundings clearly. There's nothing there. Then, you notice how silent it is. Usually, the night is full of forest creatures going about their business. Tonight, there is no sound, the forest deathly still around you. Where have the animals gone? There is a growing sense that something is not right. Something approaches. Something that scared away all the animals away. Something dangerous. Whatever it is, you don't want Dana anywhere near it. You carefully rise and leave the clearing, heading out to face it.
What has disturbed you?
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
