Chapter 12 by proton_electron

"Mmnh..." - Jane stretched on her bed when she woke up, it was late morning or rather midday when she opened her eyes, luckily it wasn't school day so she didn't overslept. She quickly remembered her yesterday's adventures, for a moment she thought it all was just a drem, but a floating tab with her stats proved it all was reality. Looking down she saw that her previously overstuffed gut already finished digesting and was back to it's usual chubby pot belly. - "Damn that was something..."

After spending several minutes in her bed the girl finaly head to start her morning routine. While washing her face she noticed she still had free stat points. - "Hmm, I probably should spend them now..." - She put 2 in INT, 5 to END, 3 to WIS and rest into CHA. - "Okay, that's good, STR and AGI I can raise by exercises, and LIB... it kinda rises by itself..."

"Hm?" - The moment Jane spent her pooints she noticed that something changed, with higher CHA stat her face looked... better, yet it remains same: same eyes, same nose, same lips but it overall appearance somehow was looking more cute. - "Wow, that's nice... I'll probably put more points here. Okay, that was nice to know, but I kinda want to learn some magic spells..." - From her experience from games she knew that acquring spells were: from magic books, as reward from quiests or learning diretly from some mage. - "mmm, I don't know were I can get quests, and I don't know anyone... oh, maybe Alice can help with this..."

"Hey, Alice!" - After weekends Jane walked up to Alice during recess. - "I have couple questions, can you help me?"

"Hm? Oh, it's you. Sure, what happend?"

"Well..." - Jane glanced around making sure nobody could hear them - "I want to study magic, can you help me with it?"

"Sorry, but no. I'm not mage myself. But you can buy the spells you want."

"Buy? Where?"

"Oh, right. I forgot that you're new in Abyss..." - Alice scratched her head. - "mmm, do you mind if I come over to your place today to show you?"

"No, it's fine. I'll meet you at school's entrance later..."

"So... where we heading now?" - Jane asked as they were walking up to her home.

"To your place. Where else?"

"Wait, didn't you said you will show me magic shop o something?"

"Shop? Ah, sorry I didn't told you, but it's all online nowadays. think of it as eBay but with stuff from Abyss."

"eBay?" - Jane got a funny image in her head: an old stereotypical mage sitting in front of computer shopping for weird stuff. - "Okay, follow me, I'm living on third floor... Mom has a meeeting today, so it's just two of us..."

"Sorry, I didn't expected any guests, so didn't cleaned my room..." - Jane said as Alice looked around her room, her cheeks blushed as she saw couple Jane's sex toys lying near bed.

"Khem... it's nothing..." - Alice walked up to Jane's PC, careful to not step on any of Jane's discarded clothes, the girl's gaming PC clearly was the most expensive thing in the room. - "...erm, you have nice PC..."

"Thanks... so, where is that shop?" - The computer quickly boted up and as Jane opened browser she gave her chair to Alice.

"Okay, here it is... The Abyss Auction" - Alice typed adress and then as she placed her hand on screen Jane saw a site that dos looked like eBay or Amazon but with pretty outdated interface. - "First thing first, we need to make an account for you... Just put your hand to monitor and it'll scan your mana..."

"Hmm, that was fast..." - Seconds later Jane was looking at her new complete account, she just placed her hand on monitor and then all information appeared on screen. - "...it even as my card info..."

"Yeah, it may ssems creepy, don't worry though your data won't leak anywhere. Now what are you looking for?"

"Mmh, I think some simple spells for beginers... preferably offensive..."

"Okay... offnsive... for beginners..." - Alice set up filters for Jane and gave space for girl to look at spells.

"Erm, are the prices right?" - The moment Jane looked at list of spells she noticed one common thing between them: inhumanly high prices.

"Hm? Yes, I set filters to lowest prices..."

"Lowest?! That book costs like a fucking supercar!"

"Well, when you put it like that... yeah, the prices in Abyss may be a little high..."

"sigh well, damn..." - Jane sighed and turned back to the screen looking through list of spells, but soon she realized that even cheapest ones still had four digit number in price. - "fuck, seems like they're too expensive for me..."

"You know..." - Alice looked at defeated girl as she stopped looking at screen. - "I can give you some money and you can return them later. That's not big deal for me."

"Not big deal? Are your family millioners or something?"

"Well, for Abyss we're still like... middle class. Now, just buy whatever you like."

"Okay..." - Jane sighed again, though now she were in slightly better mood. - "Never thought I'll get my sugar mommy that soon... Ouch!"

"Shut up!" - Alice pinched Jane's side for her joke. - "I'm not your sugar mommy. You still had to return money."

"Okay, I'll chose this one..." - couple minutes later Jane picked a book labled "Storm Magic: Electricity for Beginners" for 5400. Alice quickly transfered money to Jane's card, and after the girl bought it... nothing happens. - "Erm, what's now?"

"Just wait for delivery. It's pretty quick actually..."

Indeed several minutes later the girls heard light knocking on window. Jane carefully approached the window and looked outside, she was on alert since she lived on third flat. And outside she saw a quadrocopter flying in front of her window, the drone was medium sized and had a box with Abyss Auction logo under it. The red dot of eye on drone scanned the girl and dropped the box before flying away, Jane subconsciously catched the box and returned back.

"What's wrong?"

"...there was a drone..."

"Yes, the Auction uses them for several years now, though if you order something big, you still have to pick it up yourself."

"Noted... though I expected something more... magical... not a drone delivery... Hm? Are you leaving already? I can heat something for dinner..."

"Ah, sorry, but my family is pretty strict, so I don't want to be late..."

"Well, good luck Alice!" - Soon she was alone, and Jane quickly returned to her room and picked the box, it was usual cardboard box used for delivery. The girl quickly unwrapped her book and looked at it closely. It was pretty old book that clearly was used often and most likely had several owners by now, the book wasn't thick on first glance it had around 50 pages, but what was more important the book was glowing indiating it can give a skill.
