What's next?
New feelings.
Ashley's eyes were fixed on Miranda, her mind still reeling from the shock of waking up next to her. She felt like she was in a daze, unable to process what was happening. She took a step forward, her legs shaking beneath her, and reached out a hand to steady herself on the bedside table. "I...I don't know," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Miranda's eyes snapped back to Ashley's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable.
Miranda's gaze held Ashley's, her eyes searching for answers that Ashley didn't have. The air was thick with tension as they stood there, frozen in uncertainty. Ashley's hand was still grasping the bedside table, her knuckles white with tension. She felt like she was drowning in Miranda's eyes, unable to look away.
Slowly, Miranda's gaze dropped, her eyes scanning the room as if searching for clues. Ashley followed her gaze, taking in the scattered clothes, the tangled sheets, and the empty bottles on the nightstand. The memories still refused to surface, but the evidence was clear: they had been drinking, and they had been together.
"Did we fuck?" Ashley asked afraid of the answer.
Miranda's gaze snapped back to Ashley, her eyes wide with shock. She didn't say anything, but Ashley could see the answer written all over her face.
"Oh god," Ashley whispered, her legs giving out beneath her. She collapsed onto the edge of the bed, her head in her hands. She couldn't believe what had happened. She had never been with a woman before, and certainly not someone like Miranda Lawson.
Miranda moved closer to Ashley, her hand hesitantly reaching out to touch Ashley's shoulder. "It's okay," she said softly, her voice soothing.
"How is it okay?!" Ashley rubbed her temple, wincing as her fingers made contact with the tender skin. "How much did I drink?" she asked, her voice laced with a mix of panic and desperation. She glanced up at Miranda, her eyes searching for answers, but Miranda's expression was just as bewildered.
Miranda's hand, still resting on Ashley's shoulder, gave a gentle squeeze. "I...I don't know," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't remember much either." She paused, her gaze drifting around the room as if searching for clues. "We were at the bar, and then...I think we came back here. Miranda's eyes landed on the empty bottles on the nightstand, and she winced, as if the sight was a painful reminder of the previous night's events. She slowly stood up, her movements cautious, as if she was testing her own balance. Ashley watched her, her eyes fixed on the gentle sway of Miranda's hips as she moved towards the bathroom.
The sound of running water filled the room, and Ashley's gaze dropped to the floor, her mind still reeling from the shock of waking up next to Miranda. She felt a wave of nausea wash over her, and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. The cool air filled her lungs, and she slowly opened her eyes, her gaze drifting towards the bathroom door.
Ashley's gaze drifted towards the bathroom door, her eyes fixed on the sliver of light that escaped from beneath it. She felt a sudden urge to move closer, to see what was on the other side of that door. Her legs seemed to move of their own accord, carrying her across the room with a quiet determination. She reached the door and hesitated for a moment, her hand hovering over the doorknob.
The sound of running water was like a siren's call, drawing her in with its gentle melody. She turned the handle and pushed the door open, her eyes adjusting to the bright light within. Miranda stood under the showerhead, her eyes closed as the water cascaded down her face.
Ashley's eyes locked onto Miranda's figure, the water cascading down her skin like a veil of silk. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she stepped into the bathroom, the cool tile beneath her feet a stark contrast to the warmth that seemed to emanate from Miranda's body. The sound of the water grew louder, a gentle roar that filled her senses and drew her closer.
Without thinking, Ashley reached out and pushed the shower door open, the glass sliding smoothly on its hinges. Miranda's eyes snapped open, her gaze locking onto Ashley's as she stood frozen in the doorway. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the only sound the water pounding against the tile.
"What are you doing?" Miranda asked gently, her voice barely audible over the sound of the water. Her eyes, still locked onto Ashley's, sparkled with a mixture of curiosity and concern. The water continued to cascade down her face, sending rivulets of water streaming down her neck and shoulders. Ashley's gaze followed the path of the water, her eyes tracing the curves of Miranda's body as she stood frozen in the doorway.
Ashley's lips parted, but no words emerged. She felt as though she was trapped in a dream, unable to move or speak. Miranda's question hung in the air, unanswered, as Ashley's eyes remained fixed on the sight before her.
"I don't know," Ashley replied, her voice barely above a whisper, as she took a step closer to Miranda. The water continued to cascade down Miranda's face, sending rivulets of water streaming down her neck and shoulders. Ashley's eyes remained fixed on the sight before her, her gaze tracing the curves of Miranda's body. Without thinking, she reached out and gently brushed a strand of wet hair out of Miranda's face, her fingers grazing against Miranda's skin. The touch sent a shiver down her spine, and she felt a sudden rush of emotions that she couldn't quite process.
Miranda's eyes, still locked onto Ashley's, sparkled with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
Miranda's eyes seemed to burn with an inner intensity as she gazed at Ashley, her pupils dilating slightly as she took a step closer. The water continued to cascade down her face, sending rivulets of water streaming down her neck and shoulders, but Ashley's gaze remained fixed on Miranda's eyes, mesmerized by the spark of curiosity and concern that seemed to dance within them.
Without warning, Miranda's hands shot out, her fingers closing around Ashley's wrists like a vice. Ashley felt a jolt of surprise as Miranda spun her around, pinning her to the wall with a sudden, fierce movement.
Neither knew what came over them but at the moment they didn’t care.
