New customer

An hour had passed, but the pizza guy was still buzzing. He kept glancing at the napkin, carefully tucked beside the register, reading the words over and over.

Stay strong! - Supergirl.

It didn't even feel real.

Then the bell over the door jingled.

He looked up.

Kara Danvers walked in, her usual bright smile on her face, blue eyes twinkling behind her glasses. She had her hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket, looking as effortlessly casual as ever.

"Hey! You alright?" Kara asked, tilting her head.

The pizza guy blinked. "Huh?"

"I, uh, saw a bunch of cop cars outside earlier," she explained, stepping up to the counter. "Something happen?"

Oh, right. 'Metropolis girl. Usually, cops don't mean anything.'

"Oh, man—" He grinned, still high on excitement. "You're not gonna believe this. Supergirl was here."

Kara's eyebrows shot up. "Supergirl? No way."

"Yes way! A guy tried to rob the place, and then—bam! She just showed up outta nowhere, stopped him in, like, two seconds, and then just—" He made a dramatic swooshing motion. "Gone. It was insane!"

Kara let out a little chuckle, pushing her glasses up. "You're not pulling my leg?"

"No way. Get this—" He practically vibrated as he reached for the napkin. "She gave me an autograph."

He held it up like it was a sacred relic.

Kara leaned in, adjusting her glasses as if inspecting it closely. "Wow. Stay strong." She nodded, lips parted, pretending to be genuinely surprised. "That's her signature. I'm from Metropolis so I know! Wow, you're lucky!"

"Right?!"

"That is so cool!" Kara said, nodding enthusiastically, her best "impressed" expression plastered on her face. "Man, I can't believe you actually met her! I've never met her and I'm from Metropolis!"

"A-anyway…" Flushed red from excitement, he cleared his throat and went back to his old self. "The usual?"

"The usual."

"Coming right up!"

Kara stood by the counter, glancing around nonchalantly, but every now and then, she stole a glance at him. He was still grinning to himself as he worked, clearly riding the high of the experience.

A warm feeling settled in her chest.

He really was adorable.

Kara kept her smile small and secret as she waited for her order.
