New Job For The Guardians
The Milano hummed through hyperspace, the swirling blue tunnel of stars streaking past the viewpoint like liquid fire. Star Lord kept one hand on the lever while the other tapping the armrest too a old mixtape rhythm. "Surrender" faintly crackles from the speakers in the Milano.
Gamora leaned against the console, arms crossed under her breasts lifting them up "We should of asked for more pay, we almost died in the arena if it wasn't for Hulk." Gamora said with a sigh, she looked down at her blades.
Drax chuckled deeply from the co-pilot seat, sharpening one of his knives with a whetstone. “The arena was the fun part. I miss the arena already, the screams, the blood its the poetry of violence.” Drax chuckled more as he whiped his knife clean.
Rocket Racoon was sprawled over the back bench tinkering with various half disassembled technology. "Yeah yeah, me and Groot missed the whole thing, but from what I saw of Hulk you better watch out Drax he might use you as a club next time." Groot hummed in the background "I Am Groot." As he waterd a small sprout in a well used dark blue circular garden pot.
Star Lord tapped the Milano into autopilot, he spun on his pilot chair chuckling at Rockeets comment. "Look we got paid, made it alive. But the tanks not going too refill itself we need a new job something with bigger loot and minimal risk."
As if on cue, the comms panel lit up with an incoming transmission. The holographic projector flickered to life, displaying a slick-looking alien in a tailored suit, multiple arms gesturing dramatically.
"Guardians Of The Galaxy, I am Broker K’Varr of the Xandar Exchange. We have a high priority retrieval contract,Lucrative and time sensitive.” K'Varr says with a smooth voice.
Star Lord spun back around leaning into the comms "we're listening eight arms."
K'Varr them chimed in “A rogue collector on Morag has stolen a set of ancient Kree artifacts, power stones, or so the legends say. The Nova Corps wants them back quietly no paperwork, no questions and payment is 250,000 credits upon delivery, plus any incidental salvage you acquire along the way the coordinates transmitting now.”

Star Lord spun back around facing the crew, the mood was shifted worried look on Gamora face, Drax was pumped ready too fight.
Gamora spoke with concern. “Power stones? Last time we touched something like that, half a planet blew up.”
“Which is why we’re the best ones for the job,” Star Lord replied, already plotting the course. “Besides, Morag’s basically a ghost planet. In, grab the shiny rocks, out. Easy money.”
Drax stood up with excitement, cracking his knuckles. “Will there be worthy opponents?”
“Probably some mercs, automated defenses, maybe a couple of those big lizard things you like punching,” Rocket added with a wicked grin, already packing his gear. “I’m in. Long as I get first dibs on any tech.”
Star Lord agreeded as he punched the coordinates into the nav system. The Milano shuddered as it dropped out of hyperspace, the starfield snapping back into sharp pinpricks of light. Morag loomed ahead a desolate, storm lashed world of crumbling ruins and purple lightning.
“Guardians,” Star Lord announced, hitting the thrusters and cranking the music louder, “new job, new planet, same legends. Let’s go make some bad decisions for good credits.”
Gamora sighed but allowed herself the smallest smirk. “Try not to get us all killed this time, Quill.”
The Milano dove toward the atmosphere, engines roaring, ready for whatever trouble waited below.
