“Is that what set the loop off? Interfering with the seal?”

Shaking her head, Hinata lowered herself to the ground, sitting cross-legged. “No, it got fixed before that. The toad sage applied a seal to balance it out.”

Gaara stared at her, a few signs of intense thought flickering across his oft-impassive face. “This ‘toad sage’. Is he a friend?”

“He taught Naruto the rasengan.”

“I see.” They sat in silence for a while, which was broken when the cork popped off Gaara’s gourd. “Break is over, let’s begin.”

Hinata jumped to her feet as quickly as she could. Despite losing his more murderous tendencies, Gaara wasn’t one to let an opponent get prepared.

“Seals take a while to learn.” Sakura frowned. “Why do you need it by the end of the month? You’ll be able to get back to it next loop.”

“Gaara mentioned something about a toady friend of yours who did some sealy stuff to the fox. If I can work that out by the end of the month, then I can fix up my brother.” Temari was very matter-of-fact. This wasn’t some vague hope in her mind, but simply an obstacle that she would overcome.

Sakura considered her words, then let go of Naruto’s collar. “Fair enough. It’ll be nice to actually keep my leg next time.”
