Nelli is a hit, a hoot and holler all at once

The conversation with Nelli flowed so easily that it felt like the four of you had been friends for years. Well, months, at least. It was still a little weird to consider that you, Sabrina and Gemma had only been together for two and a half months, and had known each other to any good degree for three. As you listened to the girls talking, comparing notes on pop culture they agreed or disagreed on and which shows they needed to watch (‘OMG how have you not seen all of Castle yet, Daddy!?’), you found yourself musing a bit about the other friends you’d made that summer.

Mosche, unfortunately, felt more and more like a write-off. At one point you’d figured it would be the sort of friendship that would slowly lose touch over time until you were both just nominal friends following each other on social media. Now you weren’t even sure if it would last beyond you moving back to school - he didn’t mean to be a bad guy, but he hurt people with his… malign social incompetence. Everything that had gone down with Tasha had continued to percolate in your brain, and seeing the ill-advised move of Iris moving in with him so soon made you wonder what new toxic thing was going to crop up? Was he going to hurt her too, or was she going to take advantage of him somehow? You really hadn’t gotten a good read on the younger woman yet.

And that didn’t even bring up the fact that Mosche had his regular roommate coming back at the end of the month and you were pretty sure he hadn’t brought up Iris moving in with him. He just… wasn’t a very good friend.

But then there were friends like Tasha, Becks and Becca - you didn’t include Charlotte only because you hadn’t spent as much time with her since she worked more odd hours. You had a lot less in common with the three of them than you did with your friends from college, but they’d become friends you felt would stick around for a long time. Tasha was so sweet and spunky, and you felt bad that you weren’t going to be there for her when she needed you. She had her own friend groups in the city, but based on how things had gone down you knew she deserved better than what she was getting from them. And Becks was sultry and warm, with that fun snarkiness. You knew even less about her social circles than Tasha’s, but she’d already promised that she’d be coming to visit you and Sabrina at college so you knew she didn’t want to lose the connection either.

And Becca… Well, Becca. You weren’t sure how things would go with her, but she was so bright and funny and had such a Big Sis (well, horny big sis) vibe with Gemma that you couldn’t see that connection breaking off easily.

And that didn’t even cover everyone - you and Eric and the girls were bound together by more than just interning. Lawsuits, taking punches, handling Joy; hell, you both dated fucking Lucy. He fit the least into your likes and lifestyle; the two of you wouldn’t have been friends if you went to the same college. But going through shit like that with someone made a connection. What were you going to do about Eric?

“Hey, so, we’ve been talking for like two hours now and I don’t want to stop but also Sabrina told me you guys are going on a big date and stuff,” Nelli said. “I wouldn’t ever want to stop you guys from getting your lovefest on and stuff. Is it maybe possible for me to talk to Gemma privately for a minute?”

Sabrina raised her eyebrows and glanced across you at Gemma, who looked a little surprised as well. “Sure,” Sabrina said. “Baby, do you want to just take the tablet into the bedroom?”

“OK,” Gemma said, standing up and leaning over to give you a peck on the lips, then further to give one to Sabrina as well.

“Good, and you’ve got a booty too!?” Nelli said over the call. “Gemma, you are like a Goddess of Love, I swear.”

Your blonde girlfriend snorted softly as she went and picked up the tablet from the stand. “Says the gorgeous chick with guys literally worshipping her,” she said.

“Not the same thing,” Nelli said, her voice fading and then disappearing as Gemma carried the tablet into the bedroom and shut the door after shooting you and Sabrina a curious look.

“What do you think that’s about?” Sabrina asked quietly, as if she were worried about being overheard.

“Honestly?”

“No, lie to me,” Sabrina deadpanned.

“Less likely - She’s trying to convince Gemma to do OnlyFans too. More likely - she’s asking Gemma if she can ask us to do content with her,” you said. “She’s extremely warm and sweet, baby. And she finds us both attractive. But I think she’s also conscientious and wouldn’t want to ask you without making sure it was OK with Gemma first.”

Sabrina sighed and chewed on her bottom lip. “You think?”

“I think,” you chuckled, and pulled her legs up onto your lap so that she was sitting across it. “You attract good people.”

She smirked at that. “I dunno if it’s me or you, John. You attracted me and Gemma. You attracted Tasha and Becca. You were the first one to talk to Mallory. Plus all your friends from college - I don’t have a friend group like that. I think it’s you, not us.”

For some reason that hit you weirdly, and you coughed as a bit of tears sprung to your eyes. “I dunno about that,” you said. “I did date Lucy.”

“And repelled her like opposite magnets,” Sabrina smirked, reaching up and wiping her fingers under my eyes. “So, if she is asking about us doing content together?”

“I’m in if you are,” you said.

She grinned and nodded. “Definitely.”
