Nathan has empathy. And Charlotte let’s something slip

“Come on, Nate. She’s not worth it. She’s been **** all night to get your attention,” Charlotte pleaded as Nathan skated towards Lauren. “Come on, Nate. Look at her. She wore a diaper for crying out loud and she just wants you to kiss her. She’s not worth it.”

Nathan sighed. “Yeah, but she’s still my date this evening, Charlotte. I may not like how she’s behaved but I need to make sure she’s okay. Just let me check on her.”

“Dammit, Nathan! After everything I did, you still choose her?!” Charlotte hissed.

Nathan paused. “Everything you did? What do you mean?”

“Um, n-nothing,” Charlotte said. “Look Lauren will never change she’s just a slutty bitch who is **** for attention. Why else would she have faked her appearance?”

“Or maybe she’s insecure because she gets treated like this anytime someone sees her real self,” Nathan said. “And tell me, Charlotte. What did you do? Did you sabotage, Lauren? Tell me the truth.”

“T-the truth?” Charlotte gulped.

“Yeah, the truth. Why were you even at the bowling place to begin with? What is happening here?” Nathan asked.

“Fine. I heard about your stupid date with Lauren. So... I may have arranged a time with the girls to go bowling too,” Charlotte said.

“Why?” Nathan asked.

“Because I wanted you to see the kind of girl Lauren actually is, and realize that she’s not worth your time because she’s not,” Charlotte said. “I’m the girl for you, Nathan. Not Lauren.”

Nathan looked disgusted. “Wait, but what about Megan? Was she apart of it too?”

Charlotte sighed. “Megan did help me in a few areas.... like... rigging the bowling balls. The balls that Lauren used were heavier while mine were much lighter and easier to use.”

“So you... you set all of this up... just to humiliate Lauren?” Nathan said.

“N-not just that. But so you can see the kind of person she is,” Charlotte said.

“No, Charlotte. You’ve shown me the kind of person YOU are. Find your own ride home. We’re done,” Nathan said. “I can’t believe you stooped this low. Lauren was right. God, she tried to tell me too, and I believed you over her. What have I done?”
