You choose to wait tables and, furthermore, you reject the offer of the apron, surprising your boss. It's not busy yet, so you spend a good amount of time mentally prepping yourself. You also explain what happened today to your boss. This seems to have really struck a chord with her. She both sympathizes with what you went through and is proud of you for turning it around and owning it rather than letting it destroy you. Sure, your reputation will suffer a hit regardless, but there will be people, like your boss, that are understanding and recognize just how brave and confident your are to not only overcome this but make it part of who you are.

Eventually, the first group of customers comes in. Your boss offers to take them for you but you decline and decide to let this group be the first to see your new uniform.
