Chapter 4

What's next?
Naked onstage
Audrey squealed, the reality of her situation hitting her. She cupped her large, rounded breasts, the rest of her pale body exposed. She uselessly lifted her bare leg to try to hide the dark jet of hair between her thighs as the onlookers laughed and hooted.
Shelly Johnson, a classmate from her high school days, pushed through the gaping onlookers, her expression a mix of shock and concern. "Oh, honey," she murmured, draping a coat over Audrey's shivering form. The warmth was a small comfort, but it couldn't shield her from the cold grip of humiliation that had taken hold. "Let's get you out of here," she whispered, guiding her away from the stage.
Amidst the chaos, Audrey caught sight of Special Agent Dale Cooper. His piercing gaze swept over the scene, and for a moment, she thought she saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes—as if he knew more than he was letting on. But he said nothing, his lips curling into a knowing smile as he took a sip from his ever-present cup of coffee.
With Shelly's help, Audrey stumbled through the backstage area, dodging the shocked stares of the pageant organizers and contestants. They stepped into the alley behind the Roadhouse, the cool morning air a stark contrast to the suffocating heat of the venue.
"How did this happen?!" Audrey squealed, moritifed at what had just occured. Her life and reputation was forever altered.
"What do you mean?" Shelly asked, confused. "You don't know?"
"NO!!" Audrey squealed, clutching the coat to her naked body.
"What do we do?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
Shelly's eyes narrowed, her grip on Audrey's arm tightening. "First, we figure out who did this to you, and then we make them pay," she said, her voice laced with determination. "This isn't just some prank. This is... this is something bigger, and it stinks of your father's handiwork."
The mention of Benjamin Horne sent a shiver down Audrey's spine. Her father had always been a man of shadows and secrets, but this was a new level of depravity. The thought of him orchestrating her downfall was too much to bear. She clutched the coat closer, feeling the fabric chafe against her bare skin as she tried to make sense of the night that had been stolen from her.
The Log Lady's eerie warnings from weeks ago echoed in her mind. "The owls are not what they seem," she had said, her voice a cryptic riddle that now seemed eerily pertinent. What secrets had she missed? What had Laura known that she hadn't?
Audrey took a deep breath, the scent of pine and distant firewood grounding her.
"I need to figure out what's happening to me," she murmured, her thoughts racing. Laura's spirit had been her guide before, perhaps it could be again.
Shelly nodded, understanding in her eyes. "Okay, but we need to be careful. Whatever's going on here is deep, and it's going to get messy."
Together, they stepped into the dawning light of Twin Peaks, the town's quaint facade now a prison of whispers and accusations. Audrey's journey to redemption had only just begun, and she knew it would be fraught with danger, betrayal, and the darkest secrets of her own heart. But with Laura by her side, she was ready to face whatever the town had in store.
