NT Rangers - Lad 9 - Yeong on the Rebound
Yeong wiped her eyes. Kai had left to go speak with her mother about the traitor Esthor and Lad stayed behind. He would be lying if he tried to pretend he stayed without intent. The path was clear to get closer to her without any Orcish interference. She spoke first, he did not even have to break the ice.
“I'm sorry for being so rude to you. I was sensitive... About a lot of things. You've literally done nothing but help me and you've been a good team member, too. I guess what I'm trying to say from the bottom of my heart is.” She bowed her head.
“I'm sorry.”
“It sounds like you've been through a lot. I don't blame you.”
Yeong smiled with relief and lifted her head. “Awesome. So... Start over?”
Lad chuckled. “If that's how you want to do it, sure.” He held out his hand.
“I'm Lad, nice to-”
Yeong took his hand and leaned on him, bringing him to the ground without any effort at all. He barely even registered that anything had happened, he just noticed he was suddenly vertical and Yeong was on top of him, staring down lustfully.
“I'm Yeong...” She introduced herself, grinding on his raised leg before leaning down to kiss him. She pushed her tongue into his mouth.
“And I WANT you so bad, Lad.” Lad gave in to her and kissed her back, letting her wrap her tongue around his while her body continued to rub and rut up against him like an animal in heat. He was vaguely sure he did not sign up for something so intimate so fast, but then... He also had to accept the consequences of what he intended to do. They weren't too bad. He was too engrossed to hear the door slide open, but he could not ignore his sisters voice.
“Lad? The Fox said I could find you-” He cringed. She must have started speaking before she looked down and saw the crumpled mass that him and Yeong had become.
“Get off of him!” She yelled, running up to strike Yeong uselessly.
“L-leto stop!” Lad begged.
Yeong remained close and eyed the cute, silver haired girl closely. She looked like Lad, only a bit taller and with longer hair. It was smooth, as well, unlike his messy top.
“Who's this?” She questioned, ignoring the fact that Leto was still hitting her weakly.
“My sister.” He explained. Lad was just happy that Yeong was showing restraint.
“Why is she hitting me?”
“Because you're taking advantage of him! I KNEW this would happen!” Leto uttered passionately. She stopped hitting once she figured out it was useless.
“D-dammit...”
Yeong stared at the girl, then back at Lad. “Am I taking advantage of you?” She was genuinely curious. He could tell.
“No... You aren't.” Lad admitted.
“So that means this is-” Leto's face began to redden.
“I walked in on-” She covered her eyes and backed out, bumping into the frame before sliding out the door and closing it behind her.
Yeong was unsure of what to do, but even with his natural appeal, in that moment she felt it right to slide off of him.
“Girl has guts. She didn't hesitate.”
Lad groaned. “Of course not... She's been protecting me all our life.” He sat up and rubbed his back.
“No offense, but... Even a normal attack would not flinch from her punches.”
Lad nodded. “Yeah. It's more just, like... Watching out for me. Teaching me things that I'd need to know to stay safe. Because, well...”
“You're cute.” She finished that thought.
“Yes.”
“You have to worry about things that others do not.”
“And she taught me those things and yeah, she will throw punches if she has to, regardless of whether they'll do anything.”
“I think she could have had a knack for Martial Arts. Maybe in another life she did. No training and inadequate living, however...”
“We did our best. It's my turn to protect her. That's why I'm here.” He admitted.
“You aren't here for the glory or the justice? It's just... A safe place for your sister to stay?”
“I know it's-”
“No.” Yeong shook her head and added earnestly.
“It's very sweet. I would do the same.” She gave it a few seconds, then asked.
“So, back to f-”
“I think I should talk to her.”
“Ooh. Yeah, of course.” She slid back.
“Should get out of here, anyway. What are we doing in Kai's room?” Yeong laughed awkwardly.
“Uhm, next time, right?” Lad asked.
“Yeah! Next time.” She shot him a wink.
He rounded the corner and found Leto leaning back against the wall. She was still looking quite embarrassed, like she wanted to jump out of her own skin.
“I'm so sorry, Lad.”
“It's fine. We both agreed your heart was in the right place.”
She was relieved by that. “Oh thank god. I guess it was only a matter of time.” She chided, jabbing him in the side.
“Yeah. Anyway, are you comfortable? I haven't had much time to come see you with all that's happening.”
“I heard. That's crazy. First week and you've already sussed out a traitor, stopped a monster from consuming Orr and to top it off... You maybe have your first real girlfriend.” She smiled and knocked her head back against the wall a few times lightly.
“Hmm. I feel fine. It's actually super nice here. We went from practically living on the streets to living in luxury. I'm still expecting to wake up and realize it's all a dream.” Lad pinched her.
“Ow!”
“Not gonna happen. We're here to stay. I'll make sure of it.” As he said that his comm began to vibrate and beep.
“Shoot! I should take this. I'll come visit you whenever I can, okay?”
“No complaints, here. I was just about to go eat my SECOND meal!” She grinned and flashed an 'OK' sign. Lad returned the smile and lifted his HanCom, activating it.
“Lacie? Is it about the prisoner?”
“No, nothing like that. We have a villain in the lower city. Authorities don't want to get close, so it's up to us.”
“They don't want to? Are they allowed to do that?” Lad commented.
“They're private. Sometimes a paycheck isn't worth it, and that's where we come in. Looks like it should be an easy one. We're sending the whole team down just in case it's related to this 'Echo' business, okay?”
“Got it. I'll get suited up.”
-
The ship landed, dropping those that could not fly or float on the ground a distance away from the culprit. The 'monster' in question looked to be a fat man with rough stubble and a pink mask. He wore a pink suit with black shorts that were very unflattering to his large, uncared for body. On his chest in big black, bold text were the letters 'NTR.' Against all common sense the bulky figure held a bow and arrow, a quiver of arrows at his back, along with a pair of tiny black wings that could definitely have no chance of ever working.
“Who the hell is this clown?” Yeong questioned.
“A clown? A cherub, maybe.” Janna joked. Joseph laughed.
“Whatever it is, we need to stop him, he's shooting innocent people! Stop joking around and let's go.” Yeong stated firmly. They ran forward. Lad trailed behind, panting. He had not yet fulfilled his training quota. As they were approaching Lad noticed many men looking dejected and weak all around the scene.
“What's happening?” He asked himself.
The villain announced himself. “I am the NT aRtist!” he stated proudly.
“My arrows will make your most beloved crave the cock of someone you dislike!”
“W-what!?” Kai gasped.
“There's no way...”
“I don't think he's lying!” Lad warned as the NT aRtist loosed an arrow at Janna. She heeded Lad's words and raised a barrier around herself. The arrow broke over it, but then encircled her. She gasped and began hitting it.
“The hell is going on?” Janna complained.
“Janna!” Joseph tried to break the barrier as well, but it was taking a beating.
The villain cackled. “Seems like your barrier wants to benefit ME instead! How scandalous!”
“The barrier got flipped?” Kai muttered.
“Be careful, everyone, this guy looks like more trouble than we gave him credit for.”
He notched another arrow. “Let's see... Who shall be my next target?”
“Yeong, watch it! He might go for you next and flip you against us!” Kai warned. In response to that the martial artist braced to dodge.
Lad took a moment to think, however. “Wait, no. That's not how it works.” He realized quickly as the arrow loosed. It collided with Lad's chest and broke right over his heart.
“Ow... It hurts...” While cringing he announced.
“B-be careful. He said it would flip our beloved!” He looked to Yeong with a worried expression. Kai cocked her head to one side.
“Why are you looking at her?”
Yeong furrowed her brow. “I... Feel fine.”
“How SCANDALOUS!” The villain cackled.
Yeong shook her head and rushed forward with a burst of speed. She appeared beside him before he could notch his next arrow. Despite having quite a dangerous and confusing ability, he was still just a slow, fat man. Yeong jabbed him in the kidney, causing him to keel over and pass out with a wheeze.
“We'll figure this out later!” She announced, frustrated.
“What do we do about-” Lad looked from Yeong to Janna. She walked up to the barrier that still held her restrained inside and punched it, taking it out in one blow.
“There.” Yeong scoffed.
“Y-yeong. Should we talk about-”
“Talk about it with your beloved.” She offered in an annoyed tone.
“Wait wait wait.” He risked grabbing her arm knowing with the previous demonstrations that he would crack far easier than the barrier.
“It's probably my sister.” He admitted.
She softened and looked guilty for a moment. “O-okay. Let's figure it out then. Hopefully whatever this is can be reversed.” The girl offered practically.
As the two of them wrapped up their conversation Kai strutted past them. “You two look cute together.” She said sarcastically.
“Not even second fiddle, huh?”
“Kai...” Lad groaned. It was just the twins left. The stood on either side of him, each placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Seems he has eyes bigger than his stomach, sister.” Joseph commented.
“I admire the hustle.” Janna chuckled, patting him before leaving him. It was just Joseph, who stayed back for a moment and shrugged.
“Women, right?” The Elf joked.
“Good luck.”
It was just lad left on the street. The transport waited for him, along with what was likely to be an uncomfortable silence the whole way back. He had to figure out what he was going to do to try and fix things. If he wanted to fix things. In the background a clean up crew was securing the Villain for transport back to the facility.
