Mystery guest

"G looks like he's fine t'me. Gettin' his forty winks in." A woman's voice called out of the darkness.

Xander and Buffy startled and quickly got to their feet. Buffy got into a fighting stance while Xander just stood protectively over the sleeping Giles.

"We gonna be cool?" The voice asked, "Cause I aint tryin' t' start nothin'. Considerin' what you two were just yappin' about lets all just be cool."

Xander leaned forward and peered into the darkness. "Faith?"

Stepping out into the limited street light came Faith in a pair of sneakers, over sized sweat pants and a mans t-shirt. "Hey, X." She nodded her head. "B." She waved.

"Faith." Buffy said warily.

There was an awkward moment that dragged on as they all just looked at each other.

To break the tension Xander blurted out, "Nice outfit."

Both girls looked at him in disbelief.

Xander bowed his head, "I... I know! But somebody had to say something!"

Faith snorted while Buffy groaned.

"Sooooo...?" Xander drawled as he looked from Buffy to Faith, "Just hanging out in the dark?"

"Not really. I pretty much just woke up and got out of the Hospital. The nurses gave me some stuff to wear. Came across you two as I was making my way back to my place." Faith looked at Buffy, "Do I still have a place? You didnt burn it down or nothin', yeah?"

Buffy sighed, "I havent been there since we fought. I have no idea what kind of shape it's in since we... did... what we did."

"It's still there." Xander said, "And knowing Tricky Dick... it's been cleaned and repaired and is just waiting for you to come home."

Faith gave a fleeting smile to Xander, "Thanks X."

"Soooo...." Xander drawled again.

Both Slayers looked at him with raised eyebrows.

"We gonna talk about what you listened in on? Our little heart to heart." Xander gestured between him a Buffy.

Both Slayers groaned and looked away from each other.

"C'mon, lets get it over and done with. Everything out in the open and no misunderstandings. That way we wont have any more fuck ups like what happened with Finch." Xander chided.

Faith eyed him up, "Okay. So lets start with you, X. When you came to my room that time.... were you trying to get your monster hog wet or were you trying to help me?"

"I wanted to help you, Faith. I like you, yeah. I find you attractive, yeah. But above all if your on our side I wanted to make sure you were A-OK." Xander answered as honest and planely as he could. "I wasnt looking for new and exciting experiences in erotic asphyixation."

"So you would fuck me if... if it was on offer?" Faith hedged, looking away and shivering a little when he pressed the point about her attempt at strangling him.

"You are sexy as all hell. You arent afraid of my 'monster hog'" xander made air quotes, "and you are one cool lady. Added bonus Slayer" Xander ticked off on his fingers. "These are a few of my favorite thungs."

He made sure he had eye contact with Faith for the next part, "But if you arent in a good place, if you need help? That's more important." He looked sidelong at Buffy, "I dont know why it is you Slayers have to act like you dont need help."

Faith guffawed as Buffy made an affronted chuff of air.

Xander gestured from Faith to Buffy, "Okay, now you two clear the air."
