What did she want to speak about?
My proposal
"What? How do you know?"
"I... Found the ring." Zoe said shyly. "I'm sorry, you had left it around and... I took it and hid it because I didn't want Sarah to find out before time!"
"That's why I couldn't find it yesterday..."
"Yes... I apologize."
"It's alright, I guess. I was careless, and I could've messed it up."
"You two are so meant for each other. I want to help! May I?"
I felt so flattered somehow.
"Uhm... I'd rather do this stuff myself, but... I'm open to any ideas."
"Great! So! Erm... You can take it to an expensive restaurant for dinner! Something really fancy! Then... I'll decorate your home with candles and roses, and you can propose to her here! She loves going out with her girlfriends, but she'd love it so much if you ask her to go into the next step of your lives in such an intimate place! O-of course, I won't be here anymore, so you can have a special night with her!"
Zoe sounded so excited to do this, and it sounded amazing, yes, but...
"I don't think I could afford an expensive restaurant..."
"Don't worry, I can! I'll pay for everything, I already have a reservation!"
It was a bit weird, but she was so adorably convincing I had to give in: I was going to take Sarah to the most expensive restaurant in town, and her girlfriend was paying. She also insisted on getting a new ring. I had worked so hard to get that one, but I still accepted (later, she showed me one that was definitely more expensive and more beautiful than the one I'd bought, with a huge diamond and lots of gold ornaments. It looked like the ring of a fairy). I felt a little weird or not giving her one I had bought... But I admitted Sarah deserved the best.
