My first college party

Truth be told it wasn’t that exciting of a party. I found out right away that big social gatherings like this aren’t really my thing. Out entrance fee got us as much beer and jungle juice as we could drink. The jungle juice was probably 10% juice and 90% whatever liquor was mixed together. I’m not sure what beer it was, but I am sure it tasted like shit.

Steven told me he would catch up with me in a bit as he sought out some guys from the frat. I wondered the house a bit with a cup of beer. There were guys and girls pounding liquor, lots of dancing, and guys hitting on girls in a not so subtle way. I talked to a few girls but I never managed to steer the conversation towards anything and would quickly run out of friendly banter. I think I got, “well, I’m going back to my friends now. Have a good night!” about three different times.

What seemed like a very long two hours passed and Steven emerged from the staircase in the middle of the house.

“Hey man!”, Steven, clearly intoxicated, yells “How you liking the party? I’m having a blast! You fucked up?”

As I eye what is likely my 4th cup of jungle juice I reply with a lips pressed together smile “uhhh.. yep!”

Steven nodded his head in playful approval, “yahhh buddy! ....so here’s the deal. I met this girl, Connie. Says she used to be an RA in our building. She can’t believe I get to stay in one of the suites. She wants to check it out and see if anything has changed.”

“Oh... okay yeah so are you leaving then? I might head back with you if you are, but I’ll let you two hang out”, I reply a little excited and a little disappointed.

“Comeon man! You know I didn’t leave you out to dry! She’s got a friend who wants to come with ...errr I think it’s Kristen? I’ll find out. All four of us are going back. You ready?”
