My crush, Jess, has a crush on me

Starting to to plan my future wishes, I know I can make the girls in our friend group infinitely hotter than they currently are, and transform them into average girls to any guys wet dream. But to do this will take time as I doubt I will be able to make all the changes in one go and create the perfect girls, so I need to plan it out.

First I think about my crush Jess, it's a bit of an open secret among us guys that we all like Jess, but not letting the girls in on it, but equally, we have no idea who they like, if they like any of us at all. There was an uncertainty there, I didn't know if Jess liked someone else, and I didn't want to put all that effort into making her insanely hot just to be stolen away by one of my friends.

I've yet to decide whether I want to help my friends out or not, I could make them into better versions of themselves, better men, be a truly great friend and help them out. However on the other hand, they weren't my main focus as I wanted to help myself out first, sure I may get to them eventually, but it depends on how nice i'm feeling, I don't technically owe them anything other than just being a nice friend.

Anyway, I needed to make sure that once I'd made the changes to Jess, she would already be close to becoming mine, it might even make the wish easier to do as I do believe too large a wish sometimes doesn't work, so it would be far easier to make her my girlfriend if she already likes me.

Making my decision, I focus on using the influence power, it's different from the wish as I feel my mind reaching outwards from my body, brushing past people's minds until I lock onto Jess, gaining partial access to her mind. I know that eventually I will be able to completely read another's thoughts, but for now, I can only read her current emotion, which while sitting in class, is boredom.

Ready to spread my influence, I think about the exact thought that I want to transfer to her mind, feeling the thought move along our connection and being deposited in her mind.

"I like John and have a crush on him."

Feeling the thought start to settle and absorb into her mind, beginning to be processed by her brain, the connection ceases and am thrown out, becoming trapped back in John's head, reaching out once more causes nothing to happen, I will have to wait until tomorrow before I can reach out with my mind again.

Observing Jess out of the corner of John's eye, I watch to see if the thoughts take hold, seeing a brief look of confusion on her face before she looks at John for a moment, then looking away and taking a few glances. It doesn't quite seem like she has a crush on John yet, at least I can't be certain, but it does look like the thought has at least entered her mind for her to think about, and it's only a matter of time to know if it will develop further.

Having used both the wish and influence, I can no longer do anything but watch as my ordinary life plays out. Considering I have just gain some incredible powers, I would have expected to have accomplished more in my first day, but I guess that's why I technically have as many wishes as I have days in my life. As time passes, the world will eventually bend around me creating whatever I will, and to create a perfect life for John to live.
