Moving on

In the after glow, the two of us discussed the next steps for both of us. Neither of our situations was ideal, but we both knew what we wanted to happen next.

So after reaching a conclusion, Carla and I packed what remaining feminine clothing I had in a shopping bag I had stored in the closet and left Diego's place without a note. He was back in his father's life again, which is all he had ever really wanted out of me. Still, his controlling me had unlocked a part of me I had never known existed, so I could walk away with no hard feelings.

After leaving Diego's we made one stop along the way, then headed for the little beach house I had shared with Susan.

We held hands as we marched over to her place, and as I scanned us in, she looked up excitedly from the couch. When she saw my guest, I saw the uncertainty in her eyes.

"Get you're stuff, we're leaving," I said.

"What?"

"It's time to go home," I said. "I think we got what we really needed out of this place, now it's time to leave."

"By 'us' you mean...?"

She looked over at Carla, who was now fully clothed and carrying a suitcase.

"Carla is coming with us," I said. "I told her everything. She is...okay. The two of you might have some things to discuss, but she is coming home with us."

"But you and I, we're..."

"We're okay too," I said. "We have some things to work out too, but I think all of us working together can figure out what we do from here."

"All of us," Susan said with a weak smile. I saw her eyes drift down towards Carla's belly.

I helped Susan pack everything that we had brought with us. We headed up front to check out and in a few minutes we were in our car and on the road. We all road in silence for quite a while.
