Moving Through The Cave

Padding softly across the floor of the cave you strain to pick out any debris on the floor that could make noise. The floor is a mess of animal bones and other random pieces of trash, that becomes more dense around the slumbering piles of Kobolds.

As you move further from the back of the cave you can’t help but notice a change in the makeup of the clumps of Kobolds. Those that had been sleeping nearest to the cages had been large, at least, large for one of these things. Yet as you move further away you find that they seem to becoming smaller and smaller. By the time you come within sight of what looks like the mouth of the cave the groups seem to be made up of babies more than anything else.

As you come to the mouth of the cave you have to fight to stay in control, the urge to break into a run is nearly overwhelming. Yet you stay cool, each step being slow and measured as you finally pass through the mouth of the cave and into the open air.

Out of the cave now you start to move faster, wanting to get back to the tree and then get as far away from here as possible. Once you cross the treeline you finally break into a sprint, branches snapping at you as you plow headlong through the forest.

This blind charge away from the cave is why you don’t spot the half buried stone until it is catching your foot. Sending you tumbling forward into a small clearing in the forest.

As you try to collect yourself you hear the now familiar clicking language of the Kobolds. Snapping your head up you make out three of them closing in on you.
